Great review! Thank you so much. Soooooo helpful! Just ordered mine this morning. Bracing for our intro to solids and glad to have found this video to ease my mind after reading so many negative reviews. This is definitely the best choice for a glass product.

""there aren't a lot of baby food makers on the market in fact this is the only one I know of that anything that touches water or food in this product is either glass or stainless steel." I could not have found this piece of information on the internet before this video. Thanks a lot!

I am actually preparing myself for gastric bypass surgery and I was wondering how I am going to cook/reheat those small amounts of pureed food that I will need to eat. And how I am going to keep the cleaning to a minimum. During 3 weeks, there will be 6 small portions of pureed food to prepare every day. So I came up with the idea to perhaps use a baby foodcooker ? (Even though I found nobody else on the world wide web with this idea.) Thanks to your excellent review, I decided to purchase a second hand Beaba Babycook Neo. thank you ! Greetings from Belgium.

It works great. Get glass storage containers with lids. Can freeze or refrigerate in small portions. Easy clean. Watch out for sharp blade.

I read that demineralised water, because it is low in minerals, it will really bond with and extract minerals from your food. As long as you are putting it back in the food, I think it is not a problem. Perhaps bottled mineral water is the better option, if you are not reincorporating the liquid into the food ? Perhaps I am just overthinking this.

Minerals are added for taste only. They don't exactly bind to the water in the way whatever you read is claiming. Using water without minerals will not pull from your food. I definitely wouldn't worry about it!

Can you explain the food safety bit you mentioned a little bit clearer so I can understand? The part where you said you can cook frozen food and refreeze. But you shouldn’t defrost it frozen food and refreeze? Is it the cooking that makes it safe?
@HungryHobby
@HungryHobby Жыл бұрын
Yes! So in general once you defrost something, you shouldn't refreeze it again without cooking it. So raw food can be defrosted, cooked and frozen. But cooked food shouldn't be defrosted and then refreezed, even if it's been cooked. I think it basically has to do with the conditions which allow bacteria to multiply. Hope that helps!

Thank you so much for this review! it really helped me consider buying this one! altho, I have 1 question I hope you can help me, is it possible to make smoothies or protein shakes with that? I was thinking of using it for making smoothies after I use it for making baby food.. or will it break the glass if I try crush the ice with it for smoothies? Thanks in advance ☺️

That is a great question! To be honest, I'm not sure because I have a Vitamix blender. But, you could definitely use it to make soup after the baby outgrows it. Especially like puree soups!

Hi! Can it blend raw food? Like raw apple ? Can it make purée out of it? Thanks
@HungryHobby
@HungryHobby 7 ай бұрын
I don't think so! I think you'd get finely chopped ingredients if you tried to do that! I mean you could blend like a raw avocado or banana, but probably not a carrot!

How about near the blade ? Does it has any plastic there ? What is the bottom made of from where the steam come from (I mean how the water come in there )? Does it automatically turn off
@HungryHobby
@HungryHobby Жыл бұрын
The water reservoir is stainless steal. The reservoir sends steam directly to the glass bowl , no plastic involved. The blade is not plastic but I will look tomorrow and get back to you to see if there are any plastic parts. I know for a fact there are no plastic parts that are food facing on the blade, but when you clean it, there may be some smaller parts internally that are not food facing. So they don't ever touch food, but you may see it when you clean the blade. The biggest downfall I would say is that the lid is plastic, so obviously steam is hitting that that during cooking. But I think it's minimal and still this is probably one of the best tools you'll get on the market, but not perfect!
