Fellow 30 year old (will be 34 in a few days) and will agree. A lot of music tries, but doesn’t quite hit it. This one definitely draws me back to female rock artists of the 90s - maybe it’s the vocal tones, guitars, mixing - it definitely hits whatever it is referencing. It’s more Natalie Imbruglia than Alanis Morissette if you had to pin a reference, hovering towards the soft but still has a little bit of attitude. The singer actually has a voice that is eerily similar to a The Primitives or maybe the Bangles, which were from the 80s.

The song is about the fact that she needs to actually start opening up and getting help from people around her about her trauma. She also said in her Genius interview that the lyrics “Are you the same? I’m still the same” Are actually about her not being able to move on :(( Oh!
