Beach and Book Review: The Wager

Hi everybody, I've mentioned this before but I am a big reader. I read over 100 books last year. I thought I'd share some of my favorite books, especially the ones with survival and outdoor themes. Let me know if you like this type of content or if you like to read.

Just you and the seagulls and your book on that wonderful beach. Great place to sit with a good read on a less blustery day perhaps. Great to see you enjoy a proper book rather than using an electronic screen. Sounds a great read.

Thank you. Yes, I love sitting on the beach with my books. I do enjoy having a real book on my hand over Kindle, but I also read on a Kindle sometimes too. It's very lightweight for traveling. Thanks for watching!

I liked that one too! Both the movie and the book were great. This book, The Wager, is exciting in a different way, but Martin Scorsese is also directing the movie for this one also.

Great concept! It's very cool reading a book and visiting a location based on it. I have a feeling my wife would really love this.

Thanks. I figured finding the sight of a local shipwreck would be a good tie into this book even though it isn't the same scenario featured in the book. I'm hoping to do more in this series like hike a section of the Appalachian trail and share a non-fiction book about the trail, etc.

It's creative but appears to be a flop based on views 😆 I'm not sure how views have been for your channel, but I find people are traveling a lot in the summer and watching less KZbin. Thanks for the support!

What a great idea! I'm a avid reader myself, mainly fiction but the non fiction books I've read I really enjoyed. I'll definitely add this to my list and combined with another channel I watch, Beer in Beautiful Places, it will enhance my trip planning with all my necessities!

It’s so awesome that you’re a big reader. I do like to read, but I have never been able to just pick up any book and read it. I do love Jane Austen and even a couple from the Brontë sisters. I’ve read a few biography books. But they have to be about someone I’m interested in. Very nice review of this book. And loving the background you chose for your review.

Very nice that you like some of the classics. I will try most books, but if I don't enjoy them I will abandon them in the middle sometimes 😆. Hi Miss HOF Nice to see you on the beach with plenty of the sun. Hmmm brilliant idea of your pick of books... I like the books related to sea, especially historic or based on the true story such as "Finest Hour" " Adrift" and etc.. Maybe you take a request if you have not read it yet...hahah I actually like movies first and then read books if I have time haha My eyes close quick nowadays Miss HOF, absolutely fantastic idea. Yes, the Atlantic Ocean. I read every night before I fall asleep so that habit helps me get a good amount of reading done. I also bring my Kindle along when I travel or go to appointments to read while I'm waiting. Thanks!

Thanks, I filmed this one in the springtime so the beaches were empty. In the summertime, this would never happen 😁 Even if you go early to the beach, there are usually people surf fishing.

It was! I filmed this in the springtime. Now even this state park beach would be filled with people and surf fishermen in the summer months.
