The night is cold, and despite your exhaustion, you possess a feeling of contentedness. The ground is solid beneath your feet, and bits of rock and asphalt crack underneath you as you shift your weight from carrying around a bag with you. You're waiting for them to come back out from the bar - they saw an old friend, or needed to use the bathroom; you didn't exactly hear what the said to you. You could walk to the car on your own, you know, but you wait anyway. Some things are worth cherishing, and waiting for.

Here's a scenario. Its 1985, you're walking by a house, about 7:35 pm, and you hear this coming from a rather large house. You stop your walk and listen, since you like the Beach Boys. When you realize you're not hearing any typical party noises associated with hearing a song outside of a house. You come to the conclusion that maybe, whoever is inside, is just blasting The Beach Boys for an odd reason. As you walk away, the song ends, and you hear a scream, presumably a woman's given the high pitch, right before another Beach Boys song starts. You call the police and later, find out from the local news, there was an older man who had been torturing a young woman while listening to The Beach Boys to drown out the noise.
