Have always loved your videos. You have bought a diesel which is my world. I’m working on my training programs based out of Vegas on the 3.0L Jeep. (we have a shop and train techs) You have an elaborate expensive diesel emission control system. The reason why the pump nozzle was different is that Mexico uses 500 ppm sulfur content while your US Jeeps uses 15 ppm ultra low sulfur fuel. Your emission diesel oxidation catalyst does not like high sulfur. We in the light duty truck diesel world have issues going on and the maintenance factor of these new common rail diesel. Ever want to know more from a 35 year veteran about these diesel issues let me know! Keep the videos coming!
@jkulij88514 жыл бұрын
I’ve asked Brad about this very issue a couple of times. I’ve heard that a modern U.S. diesel will not run good on high sulfur fuel in Mexico. I have had Baja on my bucket list for some time but I am concerned about taking my eco diesel down there.

This trip hit close to home.. my parents met on a snorkeling trip to La Bufadora back in the early 60's.. Their love of camping along the coast of baja led to many of my childhood weekends being spent traveling up and down the coast between Ensenada and Punta Del Mar in our 72 Blazer looking for new and more remote camp sites along the coast.. Even back in the 70's we marveled at how the coastline (south of the border) hadn't changed much in hundred of years, where as the second you got north of the border it was "a whole different world".. as my mom used to say.. It really is a magical place, like nowhere else along the West Coast.
