How is he not running mostly stock? Outside of the roof top tent and the gear inside what has he done to the Jeep to help improve it's off-roading capability. If anything the weight of the tent and gear make it less capable.

@@antn8387 new to the channel? Clearly I'm talking about Brad's Jeep. He has made it a point to keep it mostly stock for a few trips before changing the suspension and tires. Obviously everyone else is modded up, you think they went back to stock just because he got a new Jeep?

Loved traveling in Baja in the 80s and early 90s with buddies. La Bufadora is fantastic! Used to go out diving on the boats owned by Dave, a retired firefighter from the states. He owned a place out at the point. So many great memories! You made me want to get the gang back together and head back down again. We also would drive down to La Paz for the big Easter celebration. I really miss those trips, and am thinking about a way to get back down there again. Thanks for the video!

Have always loved your videos. You have bought a diesel which is my world. I’m working on my training programs based out of Vegas on the 3.0L Jeep. (we have a shop and train techs) You have an elaborate expensive diesel emission control system. The reason why the pump nozzle was different is that Mexico uses 500 ppm sulfur content while your US Jeeps uses 15 ppm ultra low sulfur fuel. Your emission diesel oxidation catalyst does not like high sulfur. We in the light duty truck diesel world have issues going on and the maintenance factor of these new common rail diesel. Ever want to know more from a 35 year veteran about these diesel issues let me know! Keep the videos coming!
@jkulij8851
@jkulij8851 4 жыл бұрын
I’ve asked Brad about this very issue a couple of times. I’ve heard that a modern U.S. diesel will not run good on high sulfur fuel in Mexico. I have had Baja on my bucket list for some time but I am concerned about taking my eco diesel down there.

This trip hit close to home.. my parents met on a snorkeling trip to La Bufadora back in the early 60's.. Their love of camping along the coast of baja led to many of my childhood weekends being spent traveling up and down the coast between Ensenada and Punta Del Mar in our 72 Blazer looking for new and more remote camp sites along the coast.. Even back in the 70's we marveled at how the coastline (south of the border) hadn't changed much in hundred of years, where as the second you got north of the border it was "a whole different world".. as my mom used to say.. It really is a magical place, like nowhere else along the West Coast.

Being a Native from TJ I grew up knowing TJ, Rosarito, Ensenada and San Felipe beaches. I was a little kid when first went to Puerto Nuevo for Lobster and it was only ONE HOUSE with the Man and his wife cooking the Lobsters for us. I am now 65 and live in HB Ca but still love going to Baja. There are hundreds maybe thousands of places that are just so pristine and amazing on the Pacific and Cortez side of Baja. I've taken several trips from TJ to Cabo and im doing one more this year 2021 with FAM and Friends!... Viva BAJA! p.s.. and the Fishing is AMAZING...

Appreciated the last bit on safety in Mexico but I had another question. I noticed gates that you passed through and you camped on the beach at the end. What are the regulations and/or permits needed to do something like that? I've only gone down the MX to fish so camping is not something that I know anything about, below the border.

I just made a trip to the area and went there to find out. No signs or numbers and I stopped by the neighbors property and he said its privately owned and you have to know the owner. It's not for public use or rent.

Primo Nava is one of our favorite spots in my beloved Ensenada. We got married at the Riviera and stopped to eat at Primo Nava in between taking pictures lol. Good to know they moved, we haven't been back since October 2019. I grew up with seafood around me all the time, my grandfather was a fisherman, but I'll never get used to smoked fish lol, just not for me. Loved seeing you all enjoy Baja!

Great video of our region. SWEET 'chuck wagon'!! Next time you hit Mercado Negro, go the other side near the front and get some of the fattest Cortez prawns you've likely ever eaten for only 250 pesos a kilo ( which works out to about 7 bucks a pound U.S.) Fantastic grilled, sauteed in garlic butter, or even cut up to make a gourmet ceviche that you'll never forget. YUM!

I overlanded down to Cabo in 1988, following as much of the old original highway (4WD) as I could. What an experience. There’s really no place quite like it. OIIIIIIIO

Brad , i have a 2020 Eco diesel Rubicon JL . Yes you should have received a small adapter spout for them larger nozzles. Very similar to an oil funnel but it’s about 5 inches long and opens just enough to let the larger nozzle in. You can look up TDI fuel nozzle adapter on Amazon.
