In this film I return to Poole Harbour to finish what feels like "unfinished business". Armed with revised rigs, detachable snoods and a heap of enthusiasm I set about hunting the elusive flounder. Heavy rain and gusty winds are far from ideal for flounder fishing and spotting their tell-tale rattle bites.

I always have my base rigs to fall back on but every mark/species can have those tweak to improve or make efficient. I really liked the detachable snoods for this type of fishing for easier baiting and unhooking. 🎣🎣🎣

It’s funny isn’t it, I would never have known about that bite until I saw it during editing. I guessed I had something on it by the way it loaded but that was spectacular for a flounder bite. It does make you wonder what else we miss 🤷‍♂️ All the best buddy. 🎣🎣👍🏻

Great session again. Always use an unclippable snood where I can, makes it much easier as long as there's not too much weed as clips help catch it. Also helps with changing hook sizes etc.

We live on the isle of man and it's tough getting any quantity of fresh lug and especially rag almost like gold dust even if you know a good spot, what do you recommend if you can't get either as an alternative?
@seaangling
@seaangling Жыл бұрын
There are suppliers that will mail order but I’m not sure on the speed of delivery to the I.O.M. I think black lug would carry better than ragworm. If it is difficult to get on the island is it a relevant bait, are sand eel a better prospect?
@robbieallan6522
@robbieallan6522 Жыл бұрын
I do buy frozen sandeel mackerel and blueys but I'm targeting flounder n plaice so I guess theirs always a chance as you know you get some unexpected catches like a mate of mine caught an 8lb thin lip grey mullet on shrimp feather and I said u foul hooked it but ont of the shrimp feathers was right in the scissors, I'll have to wait until all these post strikes are definitely over and make a few enquiries about delivery but hopefully weather will pick up and I can get back to collecting my own and freezing any surplus. I just have alot of back problems so it's not an easy job and it's a hell of a long walk as digging bait in the harbour is prohibited even though no boats moore its a bylaw, some fool dug a huge trench for bait alongside a yacht and as the tide came in it slipped and caused 50k of damage to the boat he was right beside and broke the mast off another boat so now none of us are allowed to dig bait. Thanks for your reply 👍 tight lines

Slightly off subject but do you know if there is any date or time restrictions for fishing where you are. I've passed there a lot but never thought you could fish there. I'm in Norfolk so a long way to come if there are any of the above. Like your vids by the way, very natural.

@seaangling

No I didn’t. There was no crab activity and baits were undisturbed. I thought I would increase my chances with both rods using the 3 hook flapper. The shorter snoods were the version Shane showed me who is local to the mark.
