Beach House has effectively distilled the feeling of loneliness at a party or dance that's gone on for too long, hours after most people have gone home, into a distinctive sound that they continue to carry with them; that's how you stand out and ensure that people will be singing your praises years later.

It’s like when you were very little and still had lots of hopes and dreams, and you were looking at the night skies through the car window in the backseat of your parents’ car. The night lights and the cold breeze entering the car gives you goosebumps and you just gaze at the lights thinking about all that could be, about how everything could be so much better. But you’re still a kid so you don’t have to worry just yet, you know that you’ll eventually grow up, and you sit there innocently thinking you’re going to actually achieve your dreams as an adult. Except that... Now you’re a full grown adult and you haven’t achieved anything you originally wanted, you’ve just settled for what reality has to offer. No more dreams, and no more irrational hopes for you. But you still remember that beautiful night as a kid when you actually thought you could ever be happy.
