Beach House Silver Soul

LOL. So five or six years ago, a good friend hepped me to the existence of a French web series of different artists doing small-ish shows, and that Beach House (a band I really love) had done this small show in an apartment in Paris. And "Silver Soul" at the very end really stood out to me -- it felt impromptu, like the band hadn't planned to play this and hadn't figured out an arrangement for the small room, but decided "What the hell, let's try." Anyway, I thought it was pretty magical. And I really wanted to play this version of "Silver Soul" on some site like turntable.fm or plug.dj. Unfortunately, the web series kept getting taken down for whatever reason, too. So I managed to download the whole concert with Beach House, edited the video to just snag this song, and uploaded it so I could play it for friends in a room on a dj site. And I turned notifications off, because I couldn't be bothered. And now look at this li'l monster. : ) I just checked this for the first time in years! I had no idea, but it's AWESOME that so many of you think about this song and this performance the way I do as well! You guys are GREAT. But I'd be remiss if I didn't mention that the original full show that I edited this from is now FINALLY available on youtube in most countries at this link: kzbin.info/www/bejne/np6xdqNqecRliJo (It didn't used to be available.) Anyway, you should go give them likes and credit and all of that. And of course, this video isn't monetized or anything. It's just a clip from a show that made my own sometimes too-cynical heart seize for a moment. Javier Marcial I only discovered Beach House because it was sampled (and played in reverse) for Kendrick’s “Money Trees.” It’s such an incredible beat I had to look more into it, and as a result I found myself an awesome band that I’m becoming obsessed with.
