Hi Mike! Welcome aboard! And welcome to the best hobby in the world 😀 Let me know if I can be of any help. Have a great New Year!

Thank you for the welcome. You may well not be able to answer this simply. I have inherited a Garrett ace 150 I have done a couple of beaches and had fun but it doesn’t like wet sand giving lots of false readings. I am looking to upgrade in the new year and not having any private land rights currently a lot of my detecting will be on the beach. Is the legend and multi frequency significantly better over the simplex for that purpose and someone who is pretty new to the hobby.

Happy to help 😊 The Simplex, if set up well, is brilliant for beach detecting and is very easy to learn and use. The Legend, being a simultaneous multi-frequency machine, will handle the wet sand better and will generally find more items and at greater depths than the Simplex will. It has a very similar feel in the operation as well. The deciding factor would be how much of a learning curve you're willing to take on. The Legend is relatively easy to use compared to similar machines but will be a big jump from your Garrett. If you're happy to learn about recovery speed, iron filters, conductivities of different metals, the frequencies that are best for them and other more advanced settings, then the Legend is definitely your machine. If you prefer something easier to use but that still packs a punch by the sea, the Simplex is ideal. I'd suggest having a look through my Simplex and Legend playlists. There's a Tips & Tricks video on the Simplex and an Overview video on the Legend. Both run through the menus, settings and features. Might give you a better idea of how much you need to learn vs how much you're willing to. Hope that helps. I'm on the Nokta worldwide field team so any questions about the Nokta gear, give me a shout. You can message me on the Facebook page if that's easier 😎

@@DTEKTSUSSEX Hi Adam, that reply is very helpful in explaining to me the differences in an easy to understand way. Much appreciated for taking the time to do that and gives me a clearer idea of what to do next. I do like the technical side of this hobby and have studied a few videos now including a run through of more of yours today as suggested. I think I will start looking now and if I can find a nice secondhand simplex then that may well be my next step. Kind regards Mike

Hi Adam Just subscribed, great video gonna watch all the rest now. I want to pick your brains please. I bought a 600 and totally regretting it. I am a total novice and nearly 70. I detect my beach at stokes Bay in gosport and I set it up as per instructions and videos. As soon as I get a beep and dig ,when I carry on the thing beeps all over the place. I'm getting fed up it's probably me.I was thinking about a legend what do You think. Thanks.Tom.

Hi Tom, Welcome aboard! I hope you'll enjoy the channel 😊 I'll can't speak for three 700 but the Legend can easily be set to be remarkably quiet on the beach. It's easy to navigate and use, lightweight and robust, 100% waterproof and rechargeable. Let me know if I can help further 👍

Hi Adam. Are you blessed with super strength thumbs. Yoe seem to switch your pointer on with such ease and speed, I have the same and it's a real pain to turn on. I know it's an underwater pressure switch so I expect some resistance but not to the point I'm thinking of changing to another brand. Any advice?
@DTEKTSUSSEX Жыл бұрын
Hi Simon, I don't find any issue with it but I have been using it for a couple of years. Could be it's become easier with time perhaps. Nokta are currently developing a brand new waterproof pointer which will have an easier to operate button as well as being waterproof etc. It will be called the Accupoint...announced at Detectival last year. I'd suggest holding out for that...it's looking to be something special 😉
