Love it! This kind of living is my goal. Usually I get jealous when I see people living like this, but not w Joel and his ohana. I haven’t seen Joel in over 15 years and I was smiling watching this, and happy to see him and his family doing so well. He is a truly good, kind and honest man. Thank you for sharing this. I am inspired. God is good.

Happy to see Christian families striving and thriving even through the hard parts. Wonderful to have your entire family together. That is my prayer and my dream, to have a farm where all three of my children and all five grandchildren can live close together. God bless you all, you have a new subscriber, I really enjoyed watching your story. And boy.......what a beautiful place to live. The Bible says we are not to envy, you guys make that a tough one!
@KimroyBailey2 жыл бұрын
Admire and envy are too different things...envy the good without wanting get it by forcefully taking it from others or making yourself miserable if you don't have it..but wanting to have good things for yourself... nothing is wrong with that and other people can open your horizon

Total respect for you guys. I was just thinking that, that Oahu could be self sustainable. Living on a 3 day supply and turning everything into residential is just wreckless.
@waimeagrl51422 жыл бұрын
The pandemic was the perfect time for our government to push and support all of our amazing farmers, ranchers, and fisherman, but instead they were more concerned about when tourists could come back to start filling up those hotel rooms again. Our government preaches sustainability, but they’re really not interested.
@curiousnomadic2 жыл бұрын
@@waimeagrl5142 Trust me, everyone knows about how bad the government in Hawaii is when they do nothing about the outrageous rent and ballooning cost of living. Not to mention the reprehensible way Ige behaved over the TMT issue. However, it is totally up to farmers and fisherman to remake the aina and not worry about the tourists (they'll come and buy some). There's still plenty of land that is in your hands and plenty of time to discourage development since it presents a serious security risk. Mainlanders 100% support Hawaiian farmers, fisherman, ranchers (and hunters). If you need any help from us just let us know. I sure would love some smoke meat again.

Very inspiring!! I just returned from a 2 months stayed in Oahu, visiting and learning as much as I could from that beautiful paradise you guys live in. That land is so rich and productive! I could see the similarities with the place where I grew up in Colombia with mountains and fresh produce all year. It’s wonderful what you guys are doing! I wish I saw this video one week ago so I could visit you guys. My best wishes for that family goal you have. Blessings

This is a fantastic story about an amazing family (ies...I guess 2 families...). I'm struck by the dedication and faith of these guys...not caught up in the nonsense of our culture...focusing on the basics of faith, family, friends and farming! Great video thanks.

“nonsense of our culture”?? Since when is learning, appreciating, & perpetuating the cultural traditions of our kupuna considered “nonsense?” What an absolutely insensitive and jackassery remark!!

@kailani maybe he's talking about the constant and ongoing DIVISION of Hawaiian people. Caused by a lack of education, inexperience, political turmoil, and misunderstanding of other people. I have never experienced so much hatred and violence in such a beautiful place as in Hawaii. It's a shame it's that way. Especially for children, they shouldn't grow up learning hatred for others.

Trust me this video makes it out to be easy, simple etc..... If you don't have well over a million dollars in the bank then Hawaiʻi is not the place for you because even if you may want to live sustainably and off the grid its still expensive as f*ck. You are way better off in the mainland than in Hawai'i.
