Could something like this be used on a cheaper folding wheelchair? Something like this seems ideal for getting my mom around our yard without crashing to a halt every time we hit a mole tunnel or a root and could work on the beach as well. I was looking at at conversion kit with balloon tires but they didn't look that handy for day to day use. Then again for the yard what I really need are wider front wheels since they are what get caught on everything.

I just came across your channel recently, and I love it! 😊 I was wondering if you have ever tried the Grit Freedom Chair, and if you have, maybe your opinion on that chair vs getting the heavy-duty wheels and thicker tires with the Freewheel. I’m glad you’re enjoying the channel!! I haven’t used the grit chair before, but I have considered. I think the way in which you propel yourself has some great advantages and is probably pretty good for your shoulders. They aren’t cheap but they are definitely less expensive than some other options out there. Ultimately I chose the beach wheels and my freewheel, because I think they travel a little bit better and being from MN 99% of the time when I use the beach wheels it’s when I’m traveling

@@AdaptedAdventures I live in Central Florida, so our terrain here is more sandy. I've lost a lot of muscle mass since I got sick, and trying to take baby steps to regain strength. It's an entirely different muscle group for the Grit Chair as pushing a regular chair, so a work in progress for me. If you're ever in the area and want to try it out, feel free to reach out! I have one I'm on extended loan from an adaptive sports organization, and I'd be glad to let you give it a test drive! Maybe on a time you bring Andrea to Magic Kingdom? LOL i'm trying to figure out what's best for me for hiking, though. Hiking and biking are the 2 things I'm missing the most. Thank you so much for your reply! 😊

Hello from germany! Iam in my wheels now for nearly 5 jears and i havent gone outside seams then. I dont feel the Same anymore. I realy miss the beach and i Think i will try to stop my in the house time and go on a holliday wher nobody knows me. Do you have a Update on thees beach wheels jet ? Or could you maybe when you go on your next beach holiday make a Video how they run on sand? how much did the tires cost you without the wheel bag and axles?

So my gf is travelling to Seattle to visit next weekend #AllAbilitiesOverland but im trying to diy the sh*t out of this so she doesnt spend bookoo bucks for a wheel she has to lug around. Is there not a wide tread you can just fit around the current wheel? I mean so that youre putting it on without getting off the wheelchair, refitting new wheel (and carrying other wheel with you?) Also, dig your channel

Hey, thanks for the question! So unfortunately I haven't seen anything like that before. You could potentially find a slightly wider tired that would fit on the rim that she is currently using, however that would still require you to take the other one off, switch it out (like changing a bike tire) and re inflate it, and the wideness of the tire might be heavily impacted by the size of her rims😐.. for example the widest tire I can mount on my spinergy rims is only about 1 3/8 inches wide.
