Beachcombing Bonfire Seaglass And Fossils On The Kentish Coast

This video was filmed in October (hence the Pumpkins on Kates's nails) We went looking for fossils but found some unexpected beautiful Bonfire Seaglass! It was very very windy so sorry about the sound at some points!

I live inland about 300 miles, so I don't see the ocean often, but I'll be taking a trip to the coast pretty soon, and I'll be doing some sand-sifting if I can! I love these videos. Oh that bay is stunning! The opening after the walk in the woods and then BAM! The fossils are so amazing :) The amberina lens piece and that purple bonfire glass are dream finds :)

My most favorite part is the "CAT SCANS", isn't amazing they don't know what they are doing but they KNOW what they are doing lol. To see him sleeping like that proves that he is a very healthy stable vulnerable loved baby. Give him a cuddle from me. You son found the most amazing fossils, he has a keen eye for the exceptional finds! Thank you for taking me on the journey for treasure hunting.

I guess you could look for river pebbles & might find some pretty pottery shards amongst them.. Sometimes I dig in my little garden just to see what I can find & come across little pieces of pottery or odd shaped stones. All the best.

Great finds. About 15 years ago my children , my sister and I visited an old quarry near Hannover in Germany. We found tons of fossils. It was amazing. I miss the UK so much. Hopefully when times are better I can visit. I have a friend in Kent and one thing I really would like to do is looking for treasures on a beach.

I think this was one of my favorite mudlarks with you all. Very enjoyable but it looked so cold out that it was as if I could feel it myself . Brrrrrr ! That lovely small roundish Fossil looked to me like a baby sea urchin might look without all it's spikes . I also thought I saw a rectangular shaped agate at about that same place in the video. a creamy white colored agate with a redish orange and brownish edge. Maybe if you go back you can find agates for jewelry there too. Stay safe and have fun all of you. Thanks for sharing .

Ooh lovely glass! I found a bonfire multi once too, white with what looks like a green foot! I recently made a concrete slab in our garden and set some of the ammonites, belemnites, sea glass and pottery that I’ve found on my holidays into it. I love it as it goes wonderfully with our beach theme summerhouse 😊 Oh that piece of slag you have, looks just like a tiny picture of the beach and sea, I love it! 😯 Oh and lovely to see Sunny too. If I wasn’t afraid of losing my hands and face, I would smoosh that fuzzy tummy 🤗

Like you, I love bonfire glass...it's my favorite find. All the lumps and bumps speak of its time in the fire. Fleur, I think the 'glowy' pieces you were referring to are actually 'opalescent', not 'uv'. Kate, your encouragement of Oscar's fossil hunting is heartwarming. The starry round fossils look like echinoids of some sort...like urchins. Glad to see the whole family out fossicking. And it wouldn't be a proper round-up without Sunny, zoomies and all.

What an amazing beach to find those fossils and so much lovely coloured glass. After the olive glass piece 10.22, Kate picked up a grey pebble with a white net pattern. I found one of those and would be interested to know what it was. Thank you guys, You had a great day there. Keep safe.

Mesmerizing. Such treasures to be discovered and the music is beautiful against the sound of the waves. I live in southern most New Mexico less than an hour's drive from Mexico. It's part of the Chihuahua Desert. If you drive, say, 20ish minutes from my home and do some climbing you'll find brachiopods so parts of NM were under ocean water. Also there are trackways where you can see the traffic of dinosaurs. I marvel over the passage of time.
