Beachtek DXA-Micro Pro+ add Clean Gain and Phantom Power with no post syncing required.

I wanted to use an XLR microphone with my Canon camera but found the internal camera gain too noisy, thus I embarked on my search to find a portable, light weigh add on that would provide clean gain, phantom power, have a rechargeable internal battery, headphone/monitor output and even allow me to use two microphones, at the same time. My journey led me to the Beachtek DXA-Micro Pro +.

Love your accent mark, reminds me of Robert Forster's voice from Jackie Brown. I think the beachtek is great for interviews or vlog type videos like you're making here. It's less useful for people who travel (unless they're traveling for an interview shoot). The in-camera pre-amps for newer mirrorless cameras are also fairly good when combined with things like rode or dji wireless mics or newer shotgun mics, not as bad as the DSLR video era. Good flag on the phantom power issue, and also I wish they'd make these with USB-C instead of micro-USB.

Just picked up one of these for my nikon z6ii with XLR mic. Setting up a safety track and using this amp has been a HUGE improvement in my audio and workflow in post.

I just purchased the BeachTek and just hooked it all up but can't figure out how to play back the audio. Help.

Assuming you have connected the BeachTek to your camera, the video/audio playback with be from your camera SD card recording. There is a headphone jack on the front of the BeachTek to monitor audio - I’ve used it only to monitor audio while recording. Hope this is helpful. The BeachTek is a great on-camera audio tool. Enjoy.
