I just bought the pax2. Newbie question:with a 2 person interview, I'd like to have the voices equal on both left and right, like on mono. Would I set the individual gain levels on stereo setting, then switch to mono for the recording? Thanks again. I'm learning everything from KZbin University.

Saramonic, please answer my question, whats differentciate between Pax2 with sr ax107 ????

Have purchased an Saramonic SR-PAX2. Offers astounding flexibility with all the ports and a strong internal processor. Construction is full metal. The downsides? Well, the external construction may be metal, but inside is anything but good components. I can literally see right through the R 3.5mm channel into the insides and out the 3.5mm Headphone adapter! Yes, it may be metal, but chances are if you drop this thing, the components will be damaged first before you even make a dent. Obviously the low quality of the headphone port introduces a form of harsh noise during monitoring that is not present in the recording however. Overall, for the price, I don't think there's too many golden linings to expect. It probably provides the best flexibility for the lower price possible. Just be aware not to drop this thing and you should be fine (Update) I have been using the SR-PAX2 extensively now. The self-noise coming from the recorder definitely is an issue. Nothing much to remove in post however - just something to watch out for if you absolutely want to use the audio directly from source.

Hey this was a good post review, what do you mean with the self noise? Does the box make noise, or are you talking about only in headphone monitoring and not in post?
@enkaphalin11113 жыл бұрын
@@Mynerva oh jeez, this "review" of mine hasn't aged well over 4 months. The noise heard over headphones is quite horrible and jarring, but it doesn't show up in post. It will depend however on where you record it to. Ive done more testing with the Saramonic SR-PAX2, and it seems like some of the noise also comes from my camera's in built pre amp. I dont have the money for an external recorder just yet. I did try recording through my laptop and most of the noise is low enough that it's usable to some degree. Yet again, I want to say im extremely inexperienced in audio recording and whatnot. take my review with a grain of salt.

@@enkaphalin1111 thank you for the reply! And yeah I was curious if it bypassed the camera built in pre amp or that still had an effect on it. I liked the idea of an auto sync by doing that but you only lose a couple minutes to line up audio if it means an external recorder all together provides more quality.

Thanks Curtis. I have been using a Beachtek DXA Micro-PRO with good results but do need two XLR inputs on occasion. The Saramonic does seem like a good deal. Really too bad about the lack of a headphone amp. There is a newer{?} Saramonic model SR-AX107 with headphone adjustment but it's HUGE.

A good review. Made my decision easier for a new adapter. I am going to give the Saramonic SR PAZ2 a try. Thanks

What's your opinion about Saramonic smartrig plus?
@perspectivestudioscaribbea58997 жыл бұрын
Great comparison Curtis, I was leaning toward the Saramonic until I came across another more affordable option while adding it to my B&H wishlist, the Marantz PMD602A which retails for $40 less both there and on Amazon, there was not much information about it on KZbin since it seems to be a recent release but i decided to take a chance on it and so far in my tests with my Canon DSLR I'm happy with the results, when i finish setting up my room to do videos i'll do a review on it. or maybe it could be something you could also look into, a well built $99 DSLR Pre-Amp . Keep the great videos coming, Cheers !

Will these audio adapters provide significantly better audio quality compared to using a 3.5mm jack mic plugged directly into the camera? (I'm using a GH4.) Thanks
@SaramonicInternational7 жыл бұрын
The SR-PAX2 helps you to control your audio more easily. For a better audio the record directly to a camera, you will need a audio adapter

It has phantom power, so cheaper mikes like NTG2 will sound on good level, not below -24dB

What do u recommend to get audio (from a profecional console in a concert) in to my iPad Pro 9.7 when I shot Facebook live videos??

Hi Gil, I suggest you to try the Saramonic SmartMixer. It allows you to use pro microphone to your iPad and real-time monitor the audio
