The red wasn't the original colour, so I couldn't make it red. You can read more in the description. Metal filler is an option that I choose to use, but depends if it is my object, I'm doing it. If my client wants to let the marks of the past I'm listening 🙂

Run for it, the cops are here! I don't think I've ever seen an object linked to the police so friendly and fun! Beautiful restoration! And the bloddy electric motor still worked! I wonder how functional a MacBook or iPhone will be in half a century's time...

I'm not sure, if red was really the wrong color. I mean, there where ambulances and firefighters as well. And on both types of cars the body of the blue light could be red. But all in all a nice video of a very good restoration. Congrats.

Thank you, Dirk! The original color wasn't red, perhaps the Police car was out of service, and they took the good parts from it, including the beacon light. Then somebody painted it red by hand (it is visible on the bottom and the fabrication plate) and installed it on a fire engine or ambulance.

I think this is a Fire Dept light since it's base is red, Milicja (Police) I think just left the base silver or may have painted it blue to match their vehicle.

Hi. The red colour was applied manually by someone. I guess that police used the light bulb at first and then painted it red to fit with a Fire Truck 🚒

I think its a firefighter light,because the base is painted red,on the police cars,the base is bare aluminium,or painted with white paint.🙂

It was repurposed. Red is not the original paint.

I remember those type of lights, then they went to the strobe lights, which I despise. I don't know how police can work around them for long periods of time.

The red wasn't the original color. I mentioned that in the video. You can see on the fabrication plate that it was hand painted on the top randomly with a brush and not only.

Maybe they took it from a police car and used it for a fireman's truck, that's also possible, but red isn't the original paint.

Wszystkie musiały wychodzić z wytwórni identyczne, niezależnie gdzie były póżniej montowane, co było rozsądne z punktu widzenia produkcji. Zapewne podczas jakiegoś późniejszego remontu , komuś nie chaciało się ściągnąć "kogutów" i pomalowano je w kolor pojazdu. Samochody milicji (wtedy), straży pożarnej, czy pogotowia ratunkowego miały inne specyfikacje i raczej nie przerabiano ich wzajemnie. Co do samej restauracji - jak najbardziej pozytywna - pozdrawiam.

However, with you, working at the police beacon, I really couldn't forgive myself for it. It broke my heart. If you were doing this for a friend who requested that special period patina under the new powder coat, you should have mentioned that in the video caption. Still, if your friend likes the period look of the used one, you should have left it as it was. It was sufficiently original and functional. Best regards, Jarek
