This is a recent seminar that took place at Sportsmen's Direct where Joe Balog talked about fishing Hard Beads. Hard bead fishing is a technique that hails from Michigan and is rarely seen outside of Saginaw Bay and Lake St. Clair.

I will be reposting this seminar in a shorted form with better audio in the near future. I will also be posting clips from that I think are great tips and hold water on their own outside of this seminar.

thanks, awesome presentation. Audio is good, the rude gentlemen in the back talking throughout the presentation didn't help..haha.

The bead is already on the spoon, you buy it that way. Tons of designs and bead colors available.

lol a bead is just that , a little bead you put on the hook of the lure. Called jenson eggs, salmon eggs, all diff colors used red being the most popular...

Awesome presentation! I thought I was the only one cutting off swivels to use the smallest snaps :) Question; the rod with no guides on it - what about ice build-up on the line? Doesn't that eventually interfere with being able to take in the line when you need to present the bait in shallower water? I can't imagine you would be able to reel in any line with ice on it into that thin blank.

Ice build is a draw back of the line going through the road if you are reeling in all the time. On St. Clair you will see many people do what is called windmilling. Where you use the rod tip and your free hand to pull out of the water.

@@JCDropshot So the idea is to keep the same amount of line out, and not use the reel, but just pull up the line using the length of the rod... okay, I get it now :) What happens when one of the famous Lake St. Clair Musky hit your bait?! LOL

You need to focus camera (close-ups) on lures being shown so we can actually see what he is holding.... Nice presentation other than not being able to see the lures! Thanks!
