I love that you call this simple - I would have nothing but a tangled mess if I tried it, but it does look pretty!

@SimplyDazzlingShoppe Thanks! That is a very good question... I think once I got the hang of it I finished the bracelet in about three or four hours, but there is always that learning curve :)

If you know the peyote (even or odd) you can make your own beaded endcaps.

I love making Kumihimo braids. I do it while I am watching TV. But my big problem is how to finish them. I have so many braids that I'm made..all different colors and sizes....but haven't made anything with them yet...because I don't like the several methods I've tried to put the clasps on.

Can you do this bracelet on the square disc
@beadaholique9 жыл бұрын
Debbie I believe that you can do a round braid on a square disk, but the numbers and strand placements will be different. I have not attempted this before but I have heard that you can do it. Also keep in mind that a square disk has a rectangular center opening so you will have to make sure that your end braid is not too thick to fit through the center.

No wait, when I make my bracelets, I use four clusters of threads (so that the braid becomes thick), and not wight, but i swear the result is just the same!

I call this type of kumihimo braid the DNA braid because it looks like DNA.

She has several goofs on this video, you do not need 2 packages of cords for a braid, especially not for a bracelet, each pack of cords is 10 feet long, you are supposed to fold them in half so you have 8 5 foot long cords. If you wanted to you could certainly buy 2 packages of cords in different sizes but I wouldn't do it the way she did, I'd use 2 cords of each size & fold them.
