Did my microphone decide not to participate this week? Yes. Did my eyes still hurt from wearing makeup the first time so I couldn't re-record things? Also yes. Please forgive the sad audio bits!! It's just for the intro and goodbye that my mic decided not to join in 🙄

I start to wonder what they put in makeup today becouse I herd several youtubers have problems and well other must as well but if you not speak about it you kinda don't hear about it from them. Some just mention issues here and there bot say to much and some just been forced to stop mostly have make up on. It's wierd it seem to cause eye issues all as well. Me to lazy to use more then sometimes mascara nowdays (live with pain)so like follow make up tutorials to compensate my lack of my own.

Yet another stunning project! Your beetle sash looks great on the black jacket. It would be lovely on a dark green, very dark merlot, etc. My mind is just spinning with ideas. I am retired, disabled and really have no where to wear such a gorgeous ensemble. Sigh.... well - there is always the produce aisle of the local grocery store. 🥰. I love your work, your personality and your thoughtful, generous heart. 👍 Edit: I think a beaded sea horse or a beaded jelly fish would be lovely. I don't know about seahorses, but jellyfish can be deadly. So they would be in theme.

As a fellow disabled crafter with nowhere really to wear anything at this level, Ive been trying to embrace some advice I saw online which was that dressing up to create can help inspire you as can decorating with creations. I currently have some earings I made and love hanging off my blinds so I can look at them and enjoy and be inspired. I have a fear of ruining things I love so wearing such just to sit around making is hard on me but Ive heard others swear by it.

@@krose6451 Interesting. I shall have a try. I do have a color wheel made of all my distress inks that I have on the wall next to my chair. I love looking at it and it does make me smile and want to create.

I think that dressing up for yourself is important! I heard from a student who dropped off something at her teacher's house that she was greeted at the door by her well-dressed teacher. She was invited to come in and sit down while Miss X got some materials that the student needed. The dining room table was set with a lit candle. There was a lovely set of china and tableware on a nice table cloth. When she asked her teacher who was coming over, she said no one! She liked to do that at least once a week because she thought she deserved it! Why not!?! Same with clothes. Why not?!?

What a beautiful project! I love the heraldic style and the sash that joined them. For some reason, they reminded me of The Order Of The Honeybee, a group of Sir Terry Pratchett’s friends who were all given a honeybee pin after he passed away.

I love that modern crafting ilets you mix art forms. Unabashedly. I resisted crafting as it existed in my childhood but now it's called being a maker and it seems to not come with any ties to things like ceramics that you just paint by number or those little kids that cover their eyes in the corner in doll form which I never understood... And don't you dare worry about whether it's too punny it's like mixing the sacred with the profane but an away cooler way.

Ooooo, I love this! I think I'll have to join the Order and start working on my first beetle soon. I have tons of felt and tons of beads, tons of needles, too. The only thing is, I think I'll use nylon beading thread because some beads like bugles and charlottes can have sharp edges at the holes and easily cut regular sewing thread. If I didn't have tons of nylon beading thread, I'd probably use sewing thread, too, though. The diamond shaped bead in the center is called DiamonDuo and is just one of SO many cool two-hole beads you can get. They have a nice selection at Fire Mountain Gems. There's a half-round domed two-hole bead called a candy bead and a very neat paisley shaped one called a zoliduo. There are chevron and v-shapes, even a ginko bead! They come out with new shapes all the time. All the ones I've seen have flat bottoms, so they'll work for this kind of application just as well as bead weaving. Also, they make single rhinestones in metal pronged settings that are sewable and weavable called montees that come in all different colors and sizes.

I might join the Order of the Beaded Beetle and debut my regalia at my wedding.... I deeply want to wear a tux with corset and cape, and I just think that an Order of the Beaded Beetle sash from one shoulder to the other would be so fitting. And it reminds me of the Irish saying "Aithníonn ciaraóg, ciaraóg eile"/"A beetle recognizes another", which more or less means "it takes one to know one." Since my husband and I are the perfect weirdos for one another, it would be perfect.... (also yes we are already courthouse-married, just haven't had the party yet!)

Lol Bianca, you’ve read a little on heraldry……”punny” IS heraldry. I mean I guess it started out as a way for rich folks to tell who’s who and their background in the great breeding book that is the aristocracy, or who’s side one was currently on in battle, but in its latter days it was really a way for them to indulge a serious pun addiction….they thought it was “punny”(so sorry, I had to)

They would also work instead of tortoise brooches for a Viking-style apron dress!

I am voicing my support for a crab pin. Im sure it would be just as amazing as all the rest. I still rather desperately want to make a spider pin myself. And a bat.

I loved these! I'm a sucker for anything fantasy, and these gave me massive fantasy vibes. Maybe the magically crafted familiars of a royal mage? Spies for the knights? Who knows. There are so many possibilities! On a side note though, I might just be missing it, but I can't find the link for the seed beads? They were a very pretty sparkly bead, and I would love to get my hands on them, or other similar ones

Thank you! I always forget at least one link 😅 The charlotte cut seed beads were from this shop www.etsy.com/shop/SHEENBeads?ref=yr_purchases

Thank you for the link! Having a quick look the store really does have many beautiful beads. And don't worry about missing it, we're all human (or not, aliens and cryptids might like beading too), and part of that is sometimes forgetting things.

My beads and sequins are all inherited from other crafting folks. I’m considering taking the plunge and getting some beading needles to make myself some ugly beatles so that I can someday make beautiful ones. 😂
