A beagle is a beagle. There is no such thing as American and European beagles. The US and Europe have different confirmation standards for show quality beagles. Most purebred dogs of any breed don't meet the strict standards. One of the many standards for beagles in the US, for example, is 2 size standards: 13" and 15". A 13" is under 13 inches and a 15" is over 13", but less then 15". So even if a beagle meets all the other standards, but is 15 1/8" it is not show quality standards for the US. Is it still a beagle? Yep. The European size confirmation standard for a beagle is 13"-16". So a beagle in Europe taller then 16" would not meet the standards there. If your beagle is much taller I would start to question if it is a purebred. Which only really matters if you paid out money for a purebred and it isn't. Most beagles are bred for the best hunting skills, not to meet someone's idea of what a beagle should look like.

Your beagle is a beagle. There is no such thing as American or European beagles. There are just different confirmation standards for show dogs. Not every purebred beagle bred in the US meets the precise AKC confirmation standards to be show quality and the same for European bred beagles and European standards.

It seems counter-intuitive but you first need to teach him how to bark on command. Once you've done that, you can then transition into teaching him to stop barking. But he'll keep doing it on his own until he's learned that you're the one who decides when/if its appropriate to bark. You're the one holding the treats after all.

There is a whole lot of misinformation in this video. Beagles come in two types. 13 inch and under, and over 13 in. All of the colors described are found in both sizes. There are show beagles, and then there are field beagles. That is most likely what they are referring to when they talk about European versus American. Most field beagles are not as stocky as the ones seen in the show ring. They are not built as broad. The vast majority of hunters at least in the United States don't like a really stocky built beagle.
