what mod is that, that allows you to access that weapon selection screen? its not ACE I am mostly sure... pretty useful thing as im tired of taking the same M4 CCO every game when playing with friends cus there's too many guns in the boxes and idk what to take because our missions are so dynamic (usually medium & long range engagement, but urban / CQ is also common)

It's an older tradition where military commanders usually only carried a sidearm. It's still practiced but only for higher ranked commanders since it was impractical for them to carry around a rifle. Some don't carry anything at all since they're surrounded by protective details.
