I love and adore Lukanette because of how healthy a relationship between Luka and Marinette would be in comparison to a relationship between her and Adrien. And though I love it, I know Thomas Astruc is going to have Marinette and Adrien be endgame somehow. I have several problems with this though. *WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD* Right now, it's all just stalker tendencies and puppy love if you ask me. Anything Marinette knows about Adrien, she knows because as a model, he's a public figure and because she's a really creepy stalker fan (the girl has countless photos of him and has his damn schedule up on her wall). And if it's not something the general public knows, then its something she knows because Adrien told Nino who told Alya because she's his girlfriend, who then went and told Marinette or some variation of this. At this point, I barely see Marinette and Adrien as friends because they can't even have a proper conversation with one another! What does Marinette know about Adrien that she wasn't told by someone else or didn't find online because of his fame? What does Adrien know about Marinette that isn't just a bare basic fact? NOTHING. I don't see any romance or sparks or anything between them in the freaking slightest that wasn't purposely set up so we'd think it was romantic or hinting towards feelings. Man still says *"she's just a friend".* 💀 We've gone through 3 SEASONS PEOPLE! And we still have yet to see any character growth or proper development of a friendship between Marinette and Adrien that wasn't promptly dumped in the garbage after the episode ended. Season 3 has ended and Marinette still behaves like a stalker fan obsessed with her teen-idol crush (as CLEARLY SEEN in the dumpster fire of a mess that was Chat Blanc). WHY HASN'T MARINETTE GROWN AS A PERSON YET?! If she's mature enough to handle being the Guardian of the Miraculous and handle the rest of the Kwami's, why can she STILL not get a proper freaking sentence out in front of this *one* damn kid? And for the love of all that is sane, the girl fell in love with this kid because he's a kind, pretty face and he gave her an _umbrella_ of all things! Adrien on the other hand is in love with Ladybug, which should tell you a lot about this kid in general. He's got a stalker crush the levels of Marinette's on him. Only difference is, he's unable to actually stalk and find out tidbits of personal info about Ladybug from the internet. Man was so upset she didn't come to a romantic setup that she told him she wouldn't come to, to the point where he threw a bitch-fit in the middle of a damn Akuma attack and refused to work with her. This ain't okay. To Marinette, Ladybug is a totally separate side of herself and she barely considers Ladybug and herself to be one and the same even though they are. To Adrien, Ladybug is like some unreachable goddess of victory and strength. On both ends, I don't see this being a good thing. If Marinette can't like Adrien as Chat Noir and Adrien can't see past "Ladybug", there's this whole ass power dynamic where they're putting each other up on pedestals that just AIN'T GONNA CUT IT. This dynamic ain't cute and it ain't good either. Marinette is always freaking out about Adrien finding out she likes him. The way she talks, it seems as if she thinks she's not good enough for him or like he's so much more above her and this is a TERRIBLE thing to think when you like someone. I'm going to FREAKING LOSE IT if the reason why they get together is that they discover each other's identity. They need to lose the puppy love crush they both got. I understand that they're like 15 or something but man, this relationship is doomed from a realistic standpoint and I like none of this. It just screams toxic romance and I can't abide by it. At least with Luka, Marinette can actually speak to him and be herself around him. She can talk about the things that bother her without feeling like the two of them are on two different levels or like she's unworthy of both liking him or being liked by him. Luka was so straightforward with her and blatantly told her he liked her. There was no need for her to wonder and guess because he told her clearly that he did. He knows she likes Adrien and was more than willing to push her towards Adrien if it meant that she'll be happy. If I'm perfectly honest, I don't see Adrien being willing to do the same. When she's upset he's more than happy to just hold her and be there for her if she needs help, whereas Adrien told her he was on her side and basically left her to handle everything on her own until she got expelled! There's a saying that I think applies here, “if you love two people at the same time, choose the second. Because if you really loved the first one, you wouldn't have fallen for the second.” If Marinette truly loved Adrien I don't think she would have ever seen Luka as anything but a friend.

The only thing I can disagree with in this whole thing is the fact that there’s only 3 seasons. Don’t trust Netflix saying it’s 4 because it’s actually just 3. Everything else makes sense, I along with others in the fandom definitely want Adrien’s romance with Marinette to be real true love instead of some half baked potatoes. *WARNING RELATIVELY USLESS OPTION* I cringed every time Adrien said that he loved Marinette in Chat Blanc because he just fell in love with the Ladybug version of her. The one that he puts on a pedestal. I really just want them to build a better bond together and hang out more without the masks. They should do more school projects together or just do something where Nino, Alya, Adrien, and Marinette hang out outside of school. Since the ice skating episode I thought that if Luka and Mari are a thing or something I would be completely okay with that because it’s definitely a lot healthier than the current stage Adrien and Marinette are at right now.

guys, at first i was in adrien too, I wanted adrianette to be together with my whole heart and couldn’t understand why aren’t they already. but then luka appeared. look how gentle and kind he is. look at the way he is always here to support mari, how he trust her, even if he know she still isn’t over adrian. the way luka is ready to be her friend (not even boyfriend) just to be near her, because he actually LOVES marinette for who she is, with all her awkwardness and emotionality. luka is the one who will understand mari and be with her no matter what. personal opinion: for me adrien is still a kid. he is the most altruistic and the most selfish person at the same time. he still needs to grow up morally and figure all his feelings for ladybug/marinette/kagami out. like, why is he even dating kagami?? p.s. all I wanted to say is that I’m in love with luka and I’d be sooo happy if they’ll stay together with marinette♥️

This is really confusing, like I ship Adrien and Mari, but in the same time I can’t stop thinking about how good luka is for her. We all know Adrien and Mari are endgame and they are really cute cause it’s oblivious they both like each other ( adrien is still in denial). On the other hand we have luka, he is supportive, understanding, talented, kind, and honest. He gives her time to understand her feelings, even if they don’t end up being to him, and puts her happiness over his. Adrien is literally Gibbs from NCIS except he’s younger, he’s in love with Ladybug, but he knows that he can’t have her besides when there’s an akuma, so he dates other women who are like Ladybug to serve as a replacement for her, like Kagami, but thing is, he doesn’t love them, so he’s playing with their heart. Also, Adrienette is a really toxic and unhealthy ship, it’s clear that Marinette has an obsession with Adrien through her photos of him and memorizing his schedule. If anything, she can’t even tell Adrien that she likes him, she puts him up on a pedestal because he is a public figure, besides she basically knows everything about him, she knows where he lives, she basically knows about his mother through her Ladybug disguise, and she also knows private things about him that he confided with Nino, who may have told Alya and then told her. It’s super creepy, they put each other on pedestals and it’s really toxic. Adrien only likes Marinette as a friend anyway, as said many times in the show, even right after the umbrella scene when Plagg asks him about his feelings for Marinette. I think Marinette knows this but is in denial about it, but that’s my opinion. I don’t think she can be herself around him, she comes off as a weirdo with the fact that she can’t compose herself when she’s around him. Luka is one of the more decently written characters of the show along with his sister Juleka, I think those two are few of the characters in which we can really connect with them. Luka feels more real, like he’s his own type of person, not like a stereotype, he’s interesting. Adrien on the other hand, I don’t think he’s an alluring character at all, I feel like his only personality trait is that he’s hot and he’s famous, he’s like modeled to be Marinette’s dream guy that she will chase. Lukanette compared to Adrienette is much more healthy, we know how Marinette acts around him, she’s much more calm and collected. In a way, he allows her to be herself, and to speak her mind, he frees her from the filter/facade that she puts on for Adrien. Luka is also respectful when it comes to her attraction to Adrien, he makes it very clear that he respects her decision and on many occasions helps her get closer to her goal. I also need to bring up that Luka loves Marinette for her, and not for Ladybug, which is a common theme for Adrien. From a writing standpoint, if I were to be writing Miraculous, I think I would highlight Marinette and Luka’s bond, because of the fact that their relationship is healthy, unlike her behavior with Adrien. In conclusion: Adrienette is not a good ship, nor is their relationship, it is toxic and is teaching young children who are watching the show that stalking your crush, and being obsessive is normal. Hell, I’d even say that they’re borderline romanticizing this behavior, Marinette needs to get herself together and realize this before it’s too late. I don’t think Adrienette should become a thing, Lukanette is a more healthy option, as both parties are able to be frank with each other.
