😂 Oh my goodness, Colette. You did make me laugh. We must have gone to the same decorating college 😂😂😂. So please, too, know I wasn't the only one who pasted the course 😂😂😂😂 The colour is fantastic, and yes, primrose yellow is a mellow shade. I had it in the nursery for my youngest daughter. Funnily enough yellow is her favourite colour 💛. As for the moving and reorganise of any given room. I do the same. When I moved last year, I still made up my dining table despite the carnage of moving boxes 😂😂. As for the cleaning. I would glady have got stuck into that. I love cleaning and sorting and making things shine and gleam. Crazy I know. 😂😂😂. What a fabulous video, you crazy lady. Please don't ever change ❤ Hugs from Leicester England xx

❤ I love your choice of colour yellow is so happy and sunny 🌞 I've been here in my current abode for 7 year and I loved as soon as I walked in the door and seen the yellow. I took it as a sign of good things to come. I was trying to figure out the colour. I did think it was a shade of primrose. But it seems to be more like morning glow. It's amazing where dust manages to get. My Heart dropped when I seen the amount of dust on the top of my cupboards. I do think it's fire that causes more dust. It's very satisfying and productive cleaning all the collectibles (colette-tibles) 😊 ❤

As l am fairly new to your channel l just want to say that l love your cottage. Don't feel bad about moving things around it's an expression of how you love your home surroundings, and the life you live. l also move things around, but it's only to better the space around me. However, l soon will be moving, since l am finding it difficult to keep up with my 3000 square (wasted space) that l don't use. l have lived in my home (3 Acres) in a rural small town for the past 29 yrs and hate to move away, but l can no longer keep going up and down my stairs. When l see your lovely cottage l can see myself living in such a cottage and be happy .It would not be hard to move, since l have land where l can build, but l don't like change.

What a great video; lifted my spirits and amused me no end. Your dust inspection reminded me of the story of the little old lady living in her much loved tiny terraced home surrounded by all the things that gave her joy but she was persuaded to go to the opticians and get some spectacles. With much anticipation she returned home and on entering realised that her much loved wallpaper in the hall was in fact grubby and drab and as she wandered through her home saw that everything was faded and cobwebby. What did she do following her horror? Yes she threw away her glasses and carried on happily loving her little home. Personally I never notice anything at ground level or on high and am known for spending more time tending the outside of my home and allotment than the inside! loving the wall colour by the way.

Believe me Colette, dust collecting on our belongings is one of the great annoyances of those of us who do our own cleaning. I don't have a big house (fortunately), but I can't seem to keep up with the dusting. The ups and saucers are lovely. When those of us who do all of the outside chores as well as taking care of the house, we have to make priorities. Cleaning often winds up low on the list. I work the same way as you do. One space at a time. I love yellow paint, although if one is painting a house, one has to be careful of the choice of color.

Looking great! I just cleaned my cabin on the lake and rearranged my dining table closer to the kitchen so that I will now be more inclined to sit down and have a meal, instead of standing up in my kitchen and eating at the counter. So uncivilized! My Aunt Dot would be ashamed of me for sure for doing that. Standards are important! Happy Friday from central Texas!

You just inspired me! You have no idea how much that was needed. The builders moved in 15 months ago and the cottage was turned upside down. It all seemed worthwhile. Then, someone famous with lots of money moved to a mansion 10 miles away and every builder across the Principality seems to have abandoned we small people in their favour. We live among boxes, piles of things in the wrong place and, though the builder noise was nice to lose, the mess can no longer be lived with. Our dust now IS the collectable. No more! Dust and the various incidental items that love to host it, will begin their eviction process today. Paint, filler and sugar soap can be bought with the money put by for non-appearing builders, some householder patching done and any left over cash can be used for more trees.

From one Jenni to another...I feel your pain! Almost two years in rehabbing an old 1930's cottage and the essentials have doubled since we've started and it is near impossible to get a contractor in to do work. As soon as big business moved in, all the contractors went off to build housing for what they assume are going to house employees of the big business boom. I live in the country~we will take our time and get it right. The contactor will eventually run out of work once the big projects are complete...and we will never give them our business when they call us back "to see if we still need help on our little project" Sorry for the rant... watching and listening to Colette does soothe the wounds❤️🩹🫖☕

Yes, a pretty color! It will be gorgeous when finished. When I finally do clean my "collectibles", I sometimes try to convince myself just to use these things more than I do, to use them daily. I tend to keep nicer things set aside, as though some special guest is suddenly going to drop in and expect a cup of tea in something nicer than a mug. Some day I will die, and my descendants will clean out my clutter and ask each other, "Why didn't she use this nice tea set?" instead of the chipped stuff. Thus, I will try to adopt your idea about keeping standards and take the time to sip my tea slowly, from the good china. As always, your videos stimulate my thinking and make me aspire.

They don't call these things 'dust catchers' for nothing..... Well you know what Quentin Crisp would say... after the first few years the dust doesn't get any worse.... Life is too short to iron pyjamas!... I asked my son recently what he wanted from my house after I snuff it.... there are only a couple of items... so I have been selectively getting rid of stuff.... It's quite cathartic and the odd bits of furniture I passed on through freecycle have made people happy.... win win... Your kitchen will look beautiful after your artistic touch... My bedroom was that colour yellow several years ago, it's lovely.

Oh, I think the best way to go with a big job is to break it into parts like you are doing. But first you need to do something that really commits you to the project. Moving something to make way for painting, or tearing off wallpaper from one wall. Anything that upsets the status quo so that there will be no alternative but to soldier on. If you sit down and think about all the things that go into the complete project it is too easy to decide that now is not the time to start something that big and laborious and procrastination takes over. I know what you mean about having too many collectibles------they do tend to add up and sitting on a shelf they do tend to acquire quite thick layers of dust! No shame in that.
