Every so often I get overwhelmed with angst because of all the things that are going on in my country and other places in the world. I keep reminding myself that I can only do so much so I focus on where I am, my family, friends and the people I meet when I need to get out and run errands. I try to be the smile, kind word that is needed as I go through my life. I pray too. I can’t solve the many problems and issues that the world is facing but I do the best I can where I am physically.

35 years ago I was married to the father of my children, a Cork man. We had discussions back then about losing the British identity to other cultures and I always remember him telling me that Ireland would never go that way, would never allow it due to the fierce patriotism of the Irish. However, none of us could have foreseen the woke madness which would develop into self loathing and criticism of our own countries and culture (I’m English) in favour of allowing any other culture to invade and take over for fear of offending. The Irish are fighters and I hope you win the battle. And if you do, I hope you will put out a welcome mat for the English who have been driven out of our once lovely culture 😢

@@howareyou857 British culture is about freedom of speech and actions, tolerance and standards. What we have now is self loathing, shame and a ridiculous attitude towards our own achievements as a country in favour of allowing people from other cultures to slowly but surely take over. Cultures which have no respect for women, no standards, which marry off underage girls, which don’t allow freedom of speech or actions, and which have done worse atrocities than the British over the course of history. Cultures which don’t provide aid to other countries, cultures which have never looked inwards to see their own failings and change. Cultures which have dragged other countries down and ruined their once free countries. And we do all this self flaggelation for fear of offending others who hate us, who want to overtake us and who have no gratitude for what we provide. In short, we are despised even though we are one of the most tolerant and great countries on earth. And we are despised by people from cultures and countries who do NOTHING for must or other countries, ever, but just take take take, all the while slagging us off. We do not need to be reduced to the low standards of the countries from which they have 'escaped'. Our countries are fine. We dont need or want barbaric oppressive regimes, thanks.

@@janeknight3434 tbh Jane I live in one of oldest multi- ethnic communities in the UK and I have not ever experienced anything of your negative portrayal. I am however surrounded by people who care about their neighbours, often share their cuisine, look out for those who do not have enough and are respectful of other people's different beliefs. This has been my lifelong experience of living in a multi-ethnic British community. Britain has a long history of immigration; cities such as London, Dublin, Cardiff, Liverpool, Bristol etc would not have the rich heritage and economic status they have now without it. Fiscal studies show that immigrants bring in 12% more than they take out of the UK economy. However in return British Colonialism is not necessarily something to be proud of (if we are going to mention the UKs historical role is suppressing other countries). Probably that is a discussion for another day as it is an important but complex subject. Using the South Wales Valleys, as an example, Valleys folk embraced Italians who opened up ice cream parlours a century ago that are still run by the same families today. Ditto there is a large Thai community in the Valleys and now these communities are embracing Ukrainians. This is Britain. And always has been, a mish mash of MANY cultures, religions and identities. You evidently don't appear to be remotely ' fearful' of writing your opinions or so ' oppressed' by these so called ' barbaric regimes' that you might fear retaliation by speaking your mind so vehemently......so I'm not sure why you feel the way you do.

I do try and ignore the horrendous and inhuman things that are going on in this world and try and step back, but it is difficult as we all need each other, so isolating yourself from it all seems impossible. The last four years in my family has and is breaking us up…Some go along with the narrative, which of course they are entitled particularly in the area of what goes inside the body! The concern is that they expect others to follow even though my sister went suddenly ❤ My father was born near Cork and he came to the U.K. in the fourties’. Our town is on the coast and everyone knew one another and there were the old family names… Now we do not feel that we belong and we somehow have lost our identity. My parents and my husbands parents would not recognise it anymore😢And sadly it is no longer safe!

So glad to hear from you. I was beginning to wonder if something happened. The woodland is stunning and out by the road, looks amazing!! You really did a lot of work there and it's beautiful and fresh. It looks like with all the clearing and trimming, there will be more sunlight in the woodland, so I wonder what new things will pop up to meet the sun. I, too, have been feeling so unsettled and kind of mad at the world around me feeling. There is just so much stupid stuff going on everywhere you turn today, and more and more bad decisions are made that only affect us, not those deciding what's going to happen next. Being an empath, my goal this year was to only observe not to absorb all the negative stuff around me and let me tell you I am far from there and it's a challenge. Luckily, thoes of us who know the healing power of working in the earth, it does heal ones soul.

Have you ever seen a Martha Stewart magazine in years past ? The most inspiring page is her pastel collored Calendar for that Month. She lists the Birthdays of relatives and friends, Seasonal stuff like pruning in the correct month according to the Old Farmer's Almanac. She in recent years lists weeknd brunch with her grandkids. She has added Horseback riding and Yoga. She always has some mundane activity like Polish the Silver or clean out a drawer or closet. You have such a lovely home and garden you should be proud of. But does it get lonely by yourself? You are so fortunate to own a warm and cosy home . Do you ever invite friends over or neighbors ? Regarding the emotional news the the outside world it is best not to look or listen to it unless you are a person who loves to pray for positive results. Here in the US we have Amish familys that own no technology. So no Amish person ever wakes up to the disturbing news of the day ! Nor do they go to bed after listening to the radio or TV ! They live in thir world and tak very good acre of their children and animals. One Sundays they rotate attending Home Church in their community so that all the burdern of hosting Sunday church does not fall on the same family every weekend. They get to visit with the community after church and during potluck lunch then home to rest up and care for the cows and feed the animals etc before bed. You have a wonderful You Tube family that would miss you greatly. Are there any like minded friends in all of Ireland that you feel safe inviting into your world. or is that just not done? I hope you are not all alone there in Ireland. You are not alone with regards to your American KZbin family !

The garden looks so wonderful and mysterious. The new life in the garden is beautiful. Bless you. A new beginning of Spring. Here in Tasmania today is the last day of Summer and I have lots to do. Harvesting tomatoes and cucumbers, the last of the sweetcorn. I love this video. It makes me so excited about the next season of Autumn for us. Thank you so much for making it for us all.

So glad to see you back. The outside world is very scary.😢 Your garden is beautiful and peaceful. Every corner is so special. In my country the summer is very hot and long😢 and my garden suffers from the draught, but your videos make me so happy. ❤❤❤ Have a nice day.❤❤❤

Here in Wiltshire the rhubarb has been up a while now. The peach tree in full blossom no surprise, but still beautiful to see every year. My heart/soul/m eyes skips with the joy…with my Mother Earth.

I had no idea that the month of February was a blomin' month in Ireland! Simply beautiful and inviting. Thank you for this. I am a forest lover, earth loving spirit who has been designated to having to live in suburbia as an elder now. It's very challenging. Your videos are a soothing balm for me.💙🦋💚🦋🪻🪻🪻

good to see you back, I too have been overwhelmed with things and have been "hiding" out for awhile now. I have had to turn off the news and put on my reiki/fairy music and get outside more. So I totally get the hibernation need. I always look forward to a stroll in your garden. I use to walk with my bestie in the woods with our dogs everyday. Then I had to move and so that has been missing for awhile now. So, your strolls cheers my heart.
