One note, JTF2 was not only formed to take over Counter Terrorism duties from the RCMP but to replace our beloved tier one Regiment, the Canadian Airborne after it was disbanded following activities in Somalia. That disbanding left a hole in our SF and it was meant to fill that gap. Cheers. 🇨🇦

In a 2019 (Freedom of Information memo released) that in 2007 a half dozen Seal Team 6 operators who got captured in Afghanistan (after they surrendered) got Rescued by a stringent of Delta Force operators who rescued them just hours before their beheadings... the Seals were inconsolable and were in tears happy to be alive. "gendarmerie", not "guendarmerie" ^^' And about french special forces, there's something funny. Some people may not know that, but we technically have 2 distinct "polices", the "Gendarmerie Nationale" (army) and "Police Nationale" (not army), the gendarmerie has the GIGN but police has RAID and BRI, these 3 units may sometime work together (as seen with charlie's or bataclan's attacks).

as far as who has the best Elite Force everybody who loves their country will always say that there is is the best all you have to do is research that's why we have a new thing called the internet. Even then you're really not getting the true story you have to make up your mind and use logic which country has the most amount of money for equipment and training I would say that has a lot to do with it as well. There may be people that are excellent Fighters and that try harder than others but it all breaks down to how much your country has the spend on equipment training experience intelligence.
