I bought Neko Mimi (the cat ears) 8 years ago when they first came out. They're fun, they're silly. They respond semi-accurately (because its not _just_ an EEG sensor). People react to them when you wear them, and end up wanting to try them on. They're a short lived novelty for sure, but the bigger reason why they flopped in the long run, is because the servos that rotate the ears are delicate, and everybody ends up pawing at them to turn them, wearing the motors out.

The robotic litterbox is actually a good idea, especially if you have cats with health issues. It monitors the amount of litter used and number of times the cat goes. It also monitors weight. And for someone with chronic pain and back issues, not having to clean litter daily is worth it.
@annemariemyburgh7252 Жыл бұрын
What !! Really lol
@ingridakerblom7577 Жыл бұрын
@annemariemyburgh7252 yeah? Same it's done with people in hospital & any type of care home. They logg your fecal movements, number per day, the type of stool by the so called Bristol scale, if something is "not normal" like visible blood, flem or strange colours, among other things.. Esp if there is a known or suspected gastrointestinal issue, illness, or to prevent such.. Just as with humans feces & urine can tell a lot about someones health status.. And bcs cats are more independent & not walked & picked up after as dogs, it's harder to monitor. It can be really stressful to not be able to get a good idea of it and it can have serious consequences.. you can't ask a cat how they feel or if they are in any pain/distress.. Cats are incredible at hiding illness & injury. This litterbox, if it works, can be a godsend esp if you have more than one cat. You can't know what stuff came out of wich cat..

Well, in the USA, Litter Robot exists. But I don't think it's very useful, as you still have to grab the poop...*without* simply scooping it. Not only is it weird to grab poop with your gloves all on it's own, it increases the risk of getting Toxoplasma, a parasite that helps cats catch more birds and rats by making them love cats but also affects an estimated one in 3 humans (yes, one in *three.*). Yikes. Thankfully, I'm able to pet and even hold and snuggle kittens without allergy issues. And I don't think I have been exposed to Toxoplasma either. Yet...
@brassbuckles10 ай бұрын
@@lilysamvelian9970 With Litter Robot you are supposed to have a liner in the tray the waste dumps into, so other than actually cleaning the box and changing out the litter (which you should do regularly regardless what kind of box you use) you shouldn't be directly handling cat waste, gloved or otherwise. The idea is that all you have to do between changing the litter and scrubbing the box is remove the trash bag and replace it. Sounds like you may have gotten your info about it from an unreliable source, or someone who wasn't using it correctly. As for toxoplasmosis, it does not affect birds. Cats get it from rodents, and its tendency to make rodents approach cats is the parasite's way of continuing its life cycle. The only way to be sure a cat doesn't have toxoplasmosis is for that cat to never eat a rodent, so you can't ever really be sure you haven't been exposed. It's a concern I have as well, because I have a cat. I don't think I have rodents in my home, and I don't think he's eaten one. Yet, I can never be entirely sure.

Yeah that was my thought when they mentioned it was for elderly people. The furry community would probably really like it, of course. It might have practical use somewhere, but I can't imagine where. My initial thought when it was said that this was for balance, was that it could be helpful for Parkinson's patients, who often have balance and stability issues and could benefit from improved balance for exercise purposes. However, they would still have the issue of having to remove the cumbersome tail before being able to sit--which would be difficult for many Parkinson's patients to do. It would get in their way less than a walker, but you can't grab hold of the tail for balance if you happened to start falling despite wearing it.

I actually had the Necomimi cat ears and they were tons of fun to mess around with. They never claim to be able to sense or pick up your emotions or mood though. I have seen that misconception alot, like in reviews and such. The ears pick up on your brain ways, your brain gives out specific types of brain waves while you function im daily everyday life. What the ears do is make the ears wiggle in specific ways depending on those specific brain wave frequencies, and its actually quite accurate in regards to brain frequency. Like the one I got alot was: High Interest where the ears perk up really fast and wiggle. So all my "squirrel" ADHD moments where I get super intrigued over silly things matched those brain waves. I almost never got High Focus cause I am awful at focusing in most any situation. And the only time I ever got the ears to do a High Relaxtion state was when someone made a comment/ asked a question that threw me off so much that my brain completely blanked and stopped working for a few seconds. Which I find ironic and funny cause the only time My brain was in a relaxed brain wave state was when all my brain activity stopped working. So technically they are useless but fun for cosplay. The biggest flaw with them is the clip you have to put on your ear lobe can easily break in a way that it no longer is able to clip onto your ear, and they don't work or do anything unless you have both the clip on your ear lobe, and the sensor on your forehead. They do make noise while they move and it is noticeable but not too bad at all. I kinda liked that cause just by hearing the movements I could tell how they were wiggling. I the company said they made the ears as a way to communicate basic brainwave activities to others and yourself. Ears work as a visual aid? Xd 😅 Eitherway the ears do work and the company definitely have Never claimed the ears could pick up on moods/emotions/ feelings. ❤ I wore them out during a festival to create amusement for others as well as a fake cosplay fox tail and people seeing the ears wiggle and move on their own definitely amused and made a bunch of people smile. And it definitely amused me before it broke. Im so glad this product made the list. Cause though it is useless... it is quite interesting and a funny odditie.

i can see why the inventors thought these things would be a good idea, and i can definitely see why people did not agree. but the fonhandle however, i have to say is actually not a bad idea at all. the "finger-free" internet experience is just dumb because you still have to touch the screen. but the fact that you would'nt need to raise your hand all the way to your head, that's an actual struggle for many people with physical disabilities. i personally know several people who really cant lift their arms properly and some who cant hold onto their phone because of their shape and weight in some cases. an ergonomic handle that sticks out from your phone is a concept i've considered making myself to give these people. bottomline, dont assume something is useless just because you're not the target consumer, it could make someone's life a lot better.

Especially whenever he starts complaining, 15 minutes straight, and will go from normal volume, to shouting loudly in an annoying and sarcastic voice (and it hurts my ears and unnerves me). If this could also be used on him when he is driving (because I am unable to drive, and my mom is 70 and can't see well); it would just be such a sweet peaceful ride; Instead of "noisy dad" for as long as the ride lasts (including stops and everything), I could instead be chilling, writing poems, messaging DMs to my friends (I cannot think how to word things right when it is noisy, and 30 seconds of typing become 5 or more minutes, plus a headache).

I… still have that crazy cat ears. Calibration takes a bit long and wonky. And that clip on your earlobe kinda hurts after a while. Still, best thing since sliced bread
@ShalmendoGlineux2 жыл бұрын
They have better versions now that don't need a clip on your ear, and respond much better to brain state changes. Not made by the same company though, I don't think.

Actually, that UroClub does sound slightly useful. Fill it with a drink, and you have a bottle built into your club. I hope I don't have to clarify that this should only be done with one that was never used for it's intended purpose.

air-con shoes still interesting tho, if it can cool down your feet without having the leak. I don't buy the hole idea maybe put a silent motor, solar cell and a fan would be great. perhaps.

The silicone finger cots (because that's all the latex/neoprene "gloves" are, is 5 fuggin finger cots - also called finger condoms - that have been around forever) are very helpful for people who have dermatilomania. It protects your finger, stays on, can get wet. Similarly I've known people to use them over/in place of a bandage in a work/hobby enviroment (especially once the wound is somewhat healed) since they don't get soaked or fall off as bad, and you can cut the tip off to maintain sensation if your cut allows for it. Or use them on toes where they get bunions/blisters. They're niche, but useful for those niches.

They actually have those automatic cat ears and others at anime conventions however they have gotten better quality now even looks hell of a lot better on the older nerdy girls at the conventions. Those ones are honestly kinda cool and cute on the girls 😉 I like anyways. Those finger condoms originally came out for like cuts at work this is like some spinoff novelty variety.

The problem with the litter box is the space is too small to be comfortable for a cat. But some people don't know one of their cats is constipated because they don't remove the stool right away. If you have three cats and three boxes they will all poop in all three. The concept of this box is good but the inside space is wat too small and enclosed. And about the dog poop traps.... Please people, if you can't deal with poop, don't get a pet. They poo just like we do.

Near the end of the original run of "Bloom County" comics, there was a story arc of a jack rabbit called Hodge Podge and a female basset hound with antelope antlers (Basselope) called Rosebud that had hundreds of babies called Jackabasselopes. Hodge Podge was warming some formula for the babies and was wearing a device called the baby bonder. The man would put two bottles into a chest harness designed to look like breasts and feed the baby that way. I have a feeling the person who invented that last item took design cues from that and made a "smart" version of it.

Finger gloves are also used by people who are allergic to rubber gloves. One person wore them for that reason while I worked at a silicon wafer factory.
