On my Navy ship in the early 1980s, I once stayed awake and working for 54 hours straight. One does NOT tell the Captain one is going to sleep with a critical piece of equipment still broken! I finally got it fixed, and I looked and felt like the walking dead. My Seniorchief finally ordered me to "get horizontal", in other words get some sleep! I cannot believe anyone can go 90+ hours awake. Ain't gonna happen. 😒

I once worked a day shift, stayed awake to work a night shift the following night, and then stayed awake for the next night shift. Not through choice, i just couldn't sleep. That's 12 hour shift, 24 hour break, 12 hour shift, 12 hour break, 12 hour shift; 36 hours of work in 72 hours with no sleep (excluding 3-4 hours for travel to first shift and home from last shift). Being awake for 3 full days was followed by about 20 hours of sleep. I was halucinating at points, felt like i was going to have a heart attack, and looked like hell. I woke up unable to open my eyes due to the amount of sleep built up. I imagine 90 hours would feel like a near death experience and took several days to recover from.

As a person who struggles with limited mobility I have played runescape off and on for 17 years and achieved the max cape at least 4 times on RS3 now. However nowdays that is not as insane as it seems especially when compared to the insanity of the master quest cape, completionest cape and Trimmed completionest cape. Yes doing these things does require a lot of time but consider that it is a game where you can talk and play with other people and i have several friends from there who ive been friends with through multiple year long breaks on both sides. The game was where we met but the friendship has lasted for longer than our interest in the game.
@okdo51442 жыл бұрын
Yeah its also important to mention, that most players play runescape over a very long time... its not typical for people to start runescape and grind 10h a day for capes... most people play it for like 10 years, or longer

Damn that fanfic is The Wheel of Time long. That's freaking impressive. The Wheel of Time is so good and so long. I worked as an analyst for a small wastewater testing company and it took me over two months to listen to The Wheel of Time working 40+ hours a week. Job was crazy I would work 15-18hr days sometimes because the other analysts were lazy bastards and I just kept getting more and more stuff piled on me. I had to work a three 12+hr days culminating in a 24hr day so that I could take a two week vacation meanwhile the other two guys that worked on my side got mad at me because I didn't help bring the 3 trash cans to the road once a week. I'm putting in 15-18hr days at least once a week because of my workload, which they never once offered to help, and then they got pissed at me because I didn't help bring out the trash cans to the road. Two guys three wheeled trash cans doesn't seem like a big deal but apparently it was to these lazy bastards. I did take the trash from the interior trash cans to the outer one, often cleaning theirs without being asked, but guess that wasn't good enough. These jerks workloads were so light they could go on vacation without having to work any overtime at all just pick the pace up a little and not spend hours surfing the internet or standing around BS'ing. Eventually I got tired of the crap and quit.

Actually, talking about wasted time, my teacher told me to write a fictional story, a fantasy fiction one to be exact, and I did. I poured my heart and soul into my story, I even put a whole story line, with a very meaningful plot, and I actually wanted to use this story to help people and I wanted to sell the book, and actually make progress out of it. UNTIL the teacher force-stopped the progress of my book, with drawings and all. Then, when it was time for it to be graded, I was doomed. We did have a show and tell of our stories, but people were only allowed to look at one page of the book. And when the teacher graded it, she acted like it was never there, and even though she promised to let us finish it, she didn't give us time to, proving that what she said was a whole lie. So, no one acknowledged my hard-work. It was a waste of time, but I still plan on selling the story once I finish it.
@diannepasacrita41572 жыл бұрын
What an awful teacher. I love fantasy, so when you finish, I would love to buy it. Also, I think Amazon does publishing.
@SaltySeaStella2 жыл бұрын
Don't think of it as a waste of time, an endevour like that means so much more than being limited to just one classroom anyways. See it rather the starting point to a project you want to publish out to the world. No one can stop you from writing. The grade isn't the important part but rather doing it for you in the end. Good luck in the future with it! :^>

The one about shinies needs to be updated because your numbers assume max odds. I’m the older games (gen 2) there’s a method to make 1/64 opposite gender hatches shiny, moving up to gen 4 you can get a 21.34% chance on all wild encounters using the cute charm glitch, and in newer games you can get odds as low as 1/100, 1/152. Also keeping in mind that a lot of players use bots to auto farm shinies for them (you can literally just leave the system plugged in and catch a few shinies every day with no effort) Not saying what the players did isn’t amazing (only caught 10 shinies in my Pokémon play through a myself), I’m just saying it’s not really that big of a waste and especially on the newer consoles I would assume they did some trading/botting

Yeah, and if you catch them all, then you get the Shiny Charm, which increases chances, and Action Replay/hacks were a big deal as well so you could easily use cheat codes to get every shiny. I definitely used AR back in the DS days, hahaha. I stopped using it though. And I think there's another method with breeding, by using a Pokemon with another language and a Ditto, or 2 Pokemon of different languages (so like one English name and one German, for example). I did this to get my shiny Duskull, but I think I had the Charm as well. xD This was all the way in UltraSun, and that was THE ONLY TIME I got the Charm by myself (aka, no cheats or anything, just trading with myself and others via GTS).

After much research about Simeon the Stylites, his habit was not a waste of time and did not end up in vain. His preaching conveyed temperance and compassion, and was marked with common sense and freedom from fanaticism. And especially taught against profanity and usury. Even the monks told him to stay where he was. One of the miracle I learned was that once when Simeon was ill, Theodosius sent three bishops to beg him to come down and allow himself to be attended by physicians. But Simeon preferred to leave his cure in the hands of God, and before long he recovered. And when his mother died, he asked that his mother's coffin be brought to him. And bid farewell. Not even his own mother could visit him and she embraces the monastic life style and knowing the statement which follows, "If we are worthy, we shall see one another in the life to come." Same principle stated in the bible for sure.

I remember playing Soul Silver back in 09. I was walking through a cave when I encountered a Zubat. I was tired, wanted a unique flying type on my team and caught it in a basic pokeball. Showed to my older brother, we both had bad sleeping habits back then, and suddenly he didn't need to sleep anymore. The Zubat was green. I never saw the sparkles indicating it was shiny. She has been a part on my Main team since, including having her in Scarlet today.

The pokemon 1 is worse than you think You have legendarys that are hard to catch so even if you find a shiny have to actually catch it You have pokemon like abra who will teleport on their first turn Pokemon that only hatch from eggs And of course the 3 starters in each game

Funny thing about that...I also actually have a living shiny dex, one legit specimen of every type of Pokémon whose shiny forms are actually possible to get. And yeah...it's a pain to keep up, but still satisfying in its own right.
@philipandrews9938Ай бұрын
Its only "worse" if done in gen 2 or 3 Every gen after that made shiny hunting easier. Shiny charm and matsudo methods were introduced reducing the odds significantly Lets Go introduced overworld shinies along with if you had a chain of 30+ significantly higher odds of finding one Arceus added outbreaks with higher odds Sword&Shield had hacked dens you could join and introduced a Max Raid where you had a 1-100 chance of getting a shiny legendary Scarlet&Violet introced sandwiches that boost odds for 30 minutes (gotten 3-4 shinies with these in 30 minutes) and the DLC even added wild encounters for the first 8 gens of shinies So yeah, it doesn't take anywhere close to the time claimed in this video, especially if trading is allowed. The only tricky part are the shiny locked legendaries that were only released as events since you'll need to find someone willing to trade if you missed the event

I recall at least a dozen or more times, where I wasted my time doing something, only for it to break/fail on me (fixing something), to completing a project only having it been destroyed (DAMN YOU bad weather!) or vandalised (fucking idiot kids hopping the fence), including waiting for a few people and them not showing up at all (at least 4 times dealing with classifieds), including missing out on dozens of film opportunities (slept in, or stayed up far too late, or just couldn't sleep). I'm sure we've ALL done this to ourselves.

I'll tell ya worst waste of time. Depression!! I should of counted the endless hours I was stuck just laying there in bed being paralyzed not even interested in watching my favorite KZbin channel "Be Amazed" there were times I did manage to get up and go lay on the couch,but still did nothing but try to sleep it away. The 2nd suckiest part of depression is you never know when it will hit you and never knowing when it will go away. So I say godspeed to any and all others that have or is going through it at the moment. Of course if you're going through it right now then you'll most likely not be in KZbin comments wasting your life reading other people's posts. Just remember,there are better times ahead and don't take for granted and appreciate the hell out of your non- depression moments of your life!! ❤
