Great video man, thanks! Last month I received my 2024 X2. I’ve set up Digital Key Plus on my iPhone and Apple Watch. But, everytime I’ve got the physical key with me too. Also, I have the comfort access enabled so the car Auto Unlock and auto lock when in range. Although, I would like to ask which key prioritise when you’ve got all of them with you (physical, iPhone, Apple Watch)?

No real way to prioritize, which one to set as the primary but couple things you could do is either just use the phone or just a physical key or the phone and the key card in case you needed it for back up Probably the best option would be to go into your Apple wallet, or the BMW key is located inside the settings. It should be the setting called passive entry which should disable it

@@BeamerView thanks for the reply. 1) So, I assume we can’t have all 3 together (iPhone, Apple Watch, physical key). Why do you suggest the key card? It has something different from the physical key? 2) About disabling passive entry, then the car would be unlocked and locked with the phone or watch in the pocket and just tapping the three lines on the handle? With this way, the phone won’t start the car if it’s in the pocket, right? 3) Also, the other day had my family in the car and stopped at a nearby shop. Took my phone with me (and the Apple Watch apparently) and left the physical key in the car. Then the car turned off, and they had no climate nor radio in the car. How it’s supposed to work with the car running in parking mode so the climate control won’t stop? Best regards from 🇬🇷

@@queens718nyc5 congrats on your new BMW! X5 is a great car! I’m enjoying the car, although the software is pretty messed up and buggy. With iDrive 9 BMW changed to Android and this is the worst decision ever!! A fragmented software with zero stability!

I activated my eSIM through T-Mobile hoping that the antenna in the car would reduce dropped calls. That didn't work out so well.

eSim not worth it IMO. Only good if you're a realtor or living in your car all day long. It's not really meant to have both your phone and esim used together.

All of these should come included with the purchase of the lease, its' good for 4 years from the life of the vehicle so you should be good. If you're country or state allows remote start, that one is usually the only one that gets purchased if the vehicle doesn't already have it.

May be a glitch, I would try to re-pair the app. The subscription could also be ran out if you've have the vehicle for past 3-4 years. I would call BMW ASSIST to get the best answer.

How do I get rid of the Disclaimer Notes on startup? This is the message I get when entering the car: "Use this system only when traffic conditions permit. Safe vehicle operation is the driver's responsibility".

Can't get rid of that, its a safety disclaimer. Keeps BMW out of trouble lol, you may be able to turn off the sound or ding of it in the settings.

As of right now it will not, it should just have the regular phone tap digital key access. Higher end BMWs would come equipped right now with Digital Key Plus. I believe 5 series and up have this as it requires the vehicles having ultra wide band.

I would check to see if it works with the phone, check the wallet and look for this item called "passive entry"

Why does the “My BMW” vehicle finder show an incorrect address? I’m at 1209, and the address shown is 1207. There is no 1207 within a mile. Also, I can open my windows in the My BMW app, by touching unlock icon in the app, from inside my home. Same with the horn icon, if I press the horn icon, a few seconds later the horn on my BMW will honk. 2023 X3 xDrive 30i MSport. Thanks for the awesome informative videos. BTW, a Key Fob Cover is a Must Have.

Good points, I know the maps are not 100% accurate when i've used them. I haven't tried to lower the windows through the app, that is something i'll have to give a shot tomorrow.

My new 2024 X1 requires me to setup "my mode" every time I start the car, is that normal?

Not normal. I would try re pairing the bmw ID. Or try a system refresh by holding down the volume knob for 30 secs. Engine has to be on.

I've had a software update ready to go from the last few months. I downloaded it via app, transferred it to the car (330e) and it has accepted it but nothing I do gets it to actually install. I've done all the Park on a flat surface, handbrake on, lights off and everything else it requests but it just won't start the upgrade. There's a picture of the car on the screen with a progress bar at about 1/3 complete with a refresh symbol over it and about 2/3rd of progress bar that it never seems to get to.

@@russell821 Yeah it's unacceptable. I've sort of given up as well. From what I can remember it tells me it will let me know when it's ready to install but I've no idea what it's waiting for. I think there's another condition that needs to be met in that it has to be over 10 degrees Celsius but I've met that condition as well, Also battery charged to 100% but nothing seems to work.

This is a very common issue with software updates. When it comes time to actually install the software into the vehicle when it's off, this process could take up to weeks to work. It will usually prompt you after a long drive and once the battery is charged since it's a significant drain on the battery. Keep in mind many BMWs may not be able to update because the health of the battery is not well enough, or if the software you are trying to update is a drastic change from the current one. If this is the case you would have to bring in the vehicle for a manual update but keep in mind the shop may charge you labor to get it done this way.

Multiple phones can connect to it, but it requires to be in the vehicle and enter the passcode.

Ever since i did the remote start up grade, i can't remote start from app anymore, only the climate control comes on. Anyway to fix that? I also want the engine to start again

You may just have to re-enable the remote engine start setting. By default this comes off so you may just have to turn it back on. Go into climate control settings and look for remote engine start and enable it.

Could be 1 of 2 things. The vehicle is too old and the communication within the BMW was built on a 3g network. All Cell towers are 5g now so that's why there is no remote services. That, or your subscription could be out and needs to be renewed on connecteddrive.com

It's a good question, usually this is tied to the cell phone towers. Not sure what types are in peru. But I do know the vehicles are built on a 5g network so not sure if that's a reason why. Could also be pertaining to laws in the area that i'm not aware of.

The app is worse than useless during the build period. Mine did not update the build progress until week 5. And only after several calls to the dealer. BMW you really should not wait till week 5 to tell someone their build hasn't started yet. You think?

@Superfastjellyfish669 If you have enough to be able to buy a new one, you can afford to waste money to buy a used one and then pour a lot of money into it and be able drive it for a couple of years. Just have about $200K to waste on it. Having said that, the newer BMW’s are a lot more reliable. My wife currently has a 2024 BMW X6 Xdrive40i in order. Not what I would drop almost $100K on knowing it will be worth $20K after 3 years, but to each their own!

Better yet, if you buy a Porsche, you still can have the “wow, you drive a new Porsche” factor and definitely the power and Porsche keeps its value better. I’m not so sure if it’s that much more fun to drive than a BMW. BMWs to me are extremely fun to drive although I personally wouldn’t pay so much to own or maintain one.

I know one way would be to check your data privacy settings. Depending on which BMW you have it would be in the system settings. You'll have options such as "Allow all services including analysis" But there is a option below where you can choose which ones you want on or off.

The laws in the USA re data security are laughable. The app siphons all kinds of data from your phone including texts, contacts and location record. I have a new bmw and refuse to load the app on my phone. There are a few videos that show how bad automobile apps really are. It's not just bmw
