Older cars don't "top out" before having valve float. They just loose so much power past redline, it's hard to accelerate further. LENGTHEN FINAL DRIVE. You can easily* get to 325 with a barstow *driving it is very hard

I think being able to modify the final drive ratio would have easily carried you above 300, as it would effectively lengthen the last gear beyond what you can usually do.

Removing weight doesn't matter on the barstow, since heat starts to go down again when you hit about 240mph and you're on an almost indefinate flat surface, so you're in no hurry to get to the top speed. Since the equation for top speed doesn't include weight it's almost completely pointless to remove weight. I say almost cause with less weight you will get less rolling resistance from the wheels, which I don't know if BeamNG got simulated, but doubt it since aerodynamics isn't even propperly simulated.

Note: Switch to the Stage 3 supercharger on the drag cars for more reliability. I've achieved 300 mph in a custom SBR4 called "Dragzilla" with huge drag rear tires, rear-wheel-drive, a fully-tuned Stage-3-turbo'd 2.5-liter flat-four from the SBR4 Hillclimb, and quite a bit of weight reduction, whose only modded parts were a 6-speed race manual gearbox and a race rear differential. It was geared stupidly-high (1st gear was good for about 115 mph), and boy, was that car awesome. It could just cruise along at 5,000 RPM in 6th gear at 290-300 mph, getting 10 miles per gallon and having insane reliability to go with that. I completed all of SSRB in about half an hour with that car, and it could probably do it again if I knew how to tune a car like that again.
