Fun fact about jet engines and horsepower; All jet-emitting engines, whether turbojet, turbofan, solid or liquid rocket, etc; don't actually produce "power" per se. They produce a static amount of *thrust.* Power is force times velocity. In an internal combustion engine, we use rotational force (torque) and rotational velocity (RPM) to calculate power. Different rotational velocities (RPMs) make different amounts of "power", even with the same amount of force (like an EV's flat torque curve). In a gas jet powerplant, the driving force is straight line force (thrust). There's no forward motion generated by the act of spinning itself (unless we're talking about gas turbine cars but shh). Therefore the only real value we have is straight line force, and to find a "power" value we'd need straight line velocity to multiply it by. Put simply: the horsepower of a jet engine is determined by both it's thrust *and* the current speed the jet is flying; and since the last value is kinda wonky we *just* measure jets in pounds (or kg) thrust.

Fun fact: there was something similar to this in real life, but the rocket was attached just behind the rear axle. Just google "Turbonique Drag Axle." The same company also offered a rocket-powered supercharger. Don't know how that works. Pure madness
