BeamNG Drive - Michael Park Car Crash

This crash is similar to one that happened in Germany rally in 1986 I believe. I think the driver was Marc Surer. It was hauling ass, lost control, hit a tree, splitting in two and turned into big fireball. One died and other survived. Would be a good one to cover 👍

@@ahrtalenjoyer Actually, not really- at least today; as it was way, way more dangerous back then. Today, people get into some insane crashes that would've easily killed back then and they walk out of their cars with a concussion at worst.

Very sorry to see such a professional but modest guy lose his life, we attended the funeral out of respect for him having had the chance to meet him several times in WRC and shed a tear in the service but he had the last laugh with his choice for music, Going Underground by the Jam. he´s done few local rallyies but mainly for promotional reasons, but he´s still doing lot of behind the scenes work for many drivers in different levels, as he´s known for his car developing skills, he will always be around rally cars

I hope he doesn't blame himself... Park knew what he was getting himself in to, he knew the price of admission and unfortunately it was his day to pick up the bill. That's racing, I'm sure if Park was here today he'd say it was worth it and it was better to die on his feet than live on his knees. If you can't look at it like that, motor racing probably isn't the game for you. As Mark Webber eloquently put it: "Mate, if you're gonna race cars, you're gonna crash cars."

in Poland in 2008 took place an accident involving star of polish car TV show redactor Maciej Zientarski who was driving a Ferrari 360 Modena, his friend died at place and zientarski never fully recovered, since i was a kid i was always wondering how did it happen... "Late events took place last Wednesday evening. According to witnesses at the accident; it is said that the car ran 200 km / h. They drove along a rough street in the center of Warsaw. A car knocked out of the track ran several dozen meters on the grass, finally it hit the poles of the leading viaduct. The car broke into two parts. One of them was completely burnt. The bodies of journalists were thrown from the car."

I think we all come off as either sadists or hypocrites if we are commenting on this without recognising objective truths. Nobody here was forced to watch this video. We chose to click on the link. I myself have no problem with it, as it's a video game, not real life. That is an objective truth. However OP, your argument does have some gravitas in that you wouldn't be saying that if the title of the video didn't explicitly mention the name of the casualty, which I believe is the point you're trying to convey.

Motorsport Memorial Website says Craig Breen’s accident was by wood fence intruding into the window. Maybe similar because at the outside of the corner it’s very difficult to make any adjustments

If I remember correctly the treet was sort of leaning, so the cars roof was crushed as it impacted Parks side, severe head injuries, he took the full force of the crash

The 307 WRC didn't have a centre door pillar (B pillar) and the impact with the tree was where the pillar would have been. The tree is still there, still has a chunk of bark missing.

Surely the cage was extensively tested like all wrc cars, if it was weaker than other cars it wouldn't have been allowed to rally, it was also used in the btcc and wtcc so must have been safe. The speed and impact point would've crushed any cage like that most likely, sadly it was just above and to the side of Parks head that took the full force as he ploughed into it.
