@jimhalpert7442 the jbx100 imitation chaser mod is super easy to drift in beam and has an angle kit etc, the default cars are super difficult to adjust to!

Don't go with mods until you get acclimated to the physics. Some mods are unrealistic and can make you worse at the games intended physics. It's supposed to be realistic 100%, but I will say, it seems you have a drift steering assistant enabled. It may be making the steering feal weird. The assist is supposed to make it easier to drift with controller and beginners at the wheel, but I would recommend taking it off if you want to always 1:1 steering. But if you need it to help with the early stages of learning, then you can keep it on.

Welcome to the game! The pessima has a small angle. The FFB is different for every car, with a 8nm direct drive wheel the old pessima drifts best at 160-190 in game ffb strength at my setup. But that’s my setup. Also the caster could often be set to more than you think. Good luck 👌🏻

turn on the neck feature in your camera that looks ahead of where youre drifting, also u can zoom it way out. definately go through the controls and learn how it all works

My biggest takeaway for drifting is the difference in throttle control between this and ac, much more touchy throttle input so takes some figuing out, well worth it tho imo. Prob wanna mess with ffb settings too for moza and in game

@@ItsDoubty That's because AC throttle curve is arcadey - highly unrealistic, so when you need to be precise with throttle in BeamNG it seems off.

I feel better about not being able to drive this one now. I dropped a 2.4L turbo in it with drift tires. The one you driving has sport tires. It also has 18s in the back and 17s in the front. For some weird ass reason been NG drift tires are only available on 17s. So you gonna have to make the rear wheels 17s then put drift tires on it.

I would say that tiers matter allot in this game and there drift tiers feel like you said that you are on ice I would go with standard tiers or sport tiers

I have personally found drifting in beam to be a challenge. I build my own car from the Grand Marshall (Crown Vic) as I thought the torque curve of the engine setup was perfect for me. I have also found that you NEED quick ratio steering no matter what. Also the FFB is a huge work in progress. It took me hours to perfect it for my wheel. I expect the drifting to get significantly better along with the FFB very soon. Until then I still think you will thoroughly will enjoy the game!

Ive found that adding power steering onto the cars helps when using a wheel. It really should be a default option

You have to spend quite some time in the settings menu to get the game feeling good... and a shit ton of tuning. I had to change throttle linearity. Way too touchy how it was default. mods are nice now. Easily to find cars that feel similar to assetto.

Hey dude, beam default “drift” setups aren’t great. I have better luck just tossing an angle kit in a big block muscle car than using a default drift car

Although your system needs to be upgraded, I noticed that the game is very cpu heavy. I upgraded to a 3060, and kept my ryzen 4100😂. I use triple, so its 3 times as bad as it should be.

Go to the Moza Pit house settings and turn down "road sensitivity". BeamNG tends to transfer a crazy amount of road feel/tire feel to the steering wheel. So just turn it OFF when in Moza Pithhouse - then you can simply turn it back on when you play other games like normal. Great video!

I have only 78hrs in 8yrs of BeamNG, the steering shakes itself to pieces whenever I change a part or a tune setting :( I've had no luck with all the fixes I have found. Setting the sideways force to max20% makes it self steer better for me but once you're sliding it is indeed like ice. Drifted in AC since its release and love gettin doors but Beam is too far off at the moment for me.

They improved the grip to realistic levels a few years after it came out and the FFB was improved in .24. Now it’s good to race. I’d be lying if I told you the FFB is as informative as AC, but it’s driveable.

In Moza pit house I set all road effects in the FFB effects equalizer to 50% and then lowered the smoothing down to 70. This has given care that are both pleasant to drive AND non-laggy

Other than the default drift cars being not great, the physics are just a little for finicky than Assetto. You’ll note that you can break lose your rear tires and KEEP them broke loose with practically anything with any power at all. An unsaveable spin just happens at a little less angle than AC. Adding throttle to straighten up must be minute because otherwise it just finishes the spin off even faster. ALSO, remove the rear sway bar from anything you want a prayer of catching when the rear steps out.
