It makes sense that Beany, Cecil and Uncle Captain would only play a small role in this episode, similar to "Never Eat Quackers In Bed" where they only appeared in a quick scene earlier in the story. Of course, they didn't appear in Harecules Hare's two other episodes, either. It also makes sense Bob Clampett would revisit that Aesop fable, having previously spoofed it in the 1943 Bugs Bunny short "Tortoise Wins By A Hare". Great use of the "Can-Can" song, too!

This was a funny episode, and I especially enjoyed the twist of the rabbit beating the tortoise with the tortoise being the cheater. I'm so happy you've uploaded the harder to find shorts [and I also thank Mihai and Jeff as well for finding them], as well as the bumpers. Hope you'll upload some of the Matty and Belle bumpers one day [I wonder what their interactions with the non Cecil B&C characters were like?].
