I know those Pearly Gates opened wide for you to enter. How lucky for the other bears you have joined behind those gates. Right now, I can't think of you without crying. It is just so hard to know you are no longer with us. You made such an impact at Brooks River and all the coy you brought there will let you live on through them. Thank you!!! The brown bears of Katmai National Park can be followed on several bear cams on Explore.org. So, over the years it's possible to get to know individuals, watch cubs grow, and see some behaviors that are unique. Mostly wonderful and amazing but sometimes not. It's a chance to view the wild behaviors of bears. I've watched 402 for a long time and she was one of my besties. Thank you for watching my vid and sharing your thoughts!

This makes me think someone should put together an In Memoriam video like they have at the Oscar's at the end of every bear season that includes bears that died during the season and bears that did not show up we can safely assume probably will not show up again.

I think I agree with you on that. Not scientific but bears may have deviant behaviors just like humans. And no other bear attempted to kill another bear (excepting cubs) in the last several seasons (that I know of). Even 68 let 747 go when they had their spat. Thank you for watching.

It is hard to understand, I agree. Explore had a video on it and they are still commenting helping us to understand. I started out being deeply sad, then really angry, and now I'm starting to accept it. I think those are the stages of grief. She was beautiful, went down fighting. For warriors, that would be be a noble way to die. Maybe so for sows too...We can keep her close in our hearts. Thank you for watching.
