I have had experiences similiar but with birds. I have saved so many birds that have come to me for help. I feed them every day so they know me when I go outside. One bird had a peanut lodged in it's bill and came to me through the open back door. I don't live where there are wild animals.

Wild animals watch human activities from the woods, so the mother bear probably knew animals were cared for in the clinic. All mammals biologically inherit the same 7 emotional pathways that enable them to recognize the intentions of others.

This may seem odd but i have a cat that my dogs rescued years ago. She’s always been an odd cat only coming inside when the weather got too cold. Over the years this cat has brought me injured birds and squirrels that fell out their nests for me to heal or take care of which i did and released back in the wild…..
