I have a BCA .22WMR, haven't shot it yet, but with the BCA history, I'll bet I have to work on the feedramp, and I'm not a gunsmith. I have a .458 from Moriarti (Never heard of them, hope it's a good company)

I bought a BCA upper in 458 SOCOM. Had trouble feeding. Called Tromix and bought their bolt. Solved feeding. Bought Tromix followers and put them in Lancer magazines. Trimmed front face of magazine. Finally bought cartridge gauge from Tromix. It is made from a 458 chamber. With it I could see my errors in reloading. No problems at all since.

Nice video! The penetration differences on steel between .223/5.56 7.62 and .458 is a big highlight and I’d love to talk about it, I spent a lot of time doing math on this subject. The 5.56 has half the energy of .458 SOCOM, but it also has only 1/4 of the cross sectional frontal area. If we forget entirely about bullet design and pretend both have flat faces , the 5.56 is the clear winner in PRESSURE delivery on target. The 5.56 delivers roughly 25,000 PSI, the .458 delivers only roughly 11,250 PSI. This whole phenomenon is exacerbated by Spitzer style bullets so real pressures are much higher but the math still applies. Every round has a ratio of pressure delivery and energy. The practical difference between ratios of pressure and energy is high delivery pressure is going to penetrate more for the given energy and cause more hydrostatic shock. This is why 5.7x28 is a “body armor piercing” round. It was designed to deliver really high pressure for a pistol of about 3000 psi from 240 ft lbs of energy, compared to a typical .38 Special with 2150 PSI from 240 ft lbs of energy. I’m also going to point out that comparing m855 steel core to copper jacketed soft lead is a wash.. 7.62x39 penetration is no joke… Maybe you’ll get some different results with some steel jacketed DGS but I suspect that the .458 SOCOM is just not powerful enough to push such a wide bullet through solid steel. Cheers have fun!

Order the bolt from Tromix. Makes an enormous difference.

I would give a lancer mag a try and see if it helps with feeding. They run 100% in mine. Another thing to check is how the upper receiver is blended into the barrel extension. Sometimes there is a "step" that catches the nose of the rounds. You have to remove the barrel but re-blending the feed ramps and polishing them helped a ton. Also make sure the extractor spring is reversed from a normal AR and that it doesn't have an o ring. The ejection can mess up the feeding of the next round even if it looks normal.

I was having feeding issues with my Wilson combat 458 socom build. Which is disappointing because it wasn't cheap. I bought lancer mags and put the tromix followers in them. I also swapped the tromix bolt into my bcg. Haven't had any problems since and it's one hell of a gun.

Bought a 50 beuwolf from BCA.Garbage..... My 458 socoms are both Tromix with their bolt. They both run flawless and no dicking around.Tony does it right,is a cool guy and handles problems personally....For what I paid I could double my investment. But they are going to My daughter eventually, bc they are so sweet.Thanks to Tony and Justin for awesomeness.

I got 3 BCA AR-15 and fired lots of rounds. Bought a 5.56 and 300 blackout flawless. The .450 bushmaster had feeding issues but I didn’t swap for a heavier buffer spring was the problem. Got a new buffer flawless.BCA is the best bang for your buck. I know some people talk crap but research what going on with you rifle before you gripe about it. BCA rifles need to be cleaned and lubed out of the box. Some jam when you first break them in. It’s like any rifle though! You get the best bang for your buck with a BCA with lots of calibers to choose from. Plus you can send it back for them to fix for free with a limited lifetime warranty if there is something wrong with it. People jump to conclusions with the first problem they run into without troubleshooting it.

Had fits over a BCA 458 SOCOM upper like in this video. In the end, milspec aluminum mags with Tromix followers, and I ended up just buying a tromix bolt. It's flawless now. Even after buying the bolt, I'm still ahead of other brands $$ wise. I now know that it's most likely the ejector on the BCA bolt. It's not beveled properly and the end of the round gets caught on it. The only thing that's painful on the beast now is the cost of the ammo.

I polished the feed ramp, use aluminum mags, and modified the lower lugs on the barrel and it seems to run nicely now. You're right, the ammo is a killer.

I just purchased the same upper…I’m putting it on a PSA stealth lower…so you mean to tell me this upper is trash??? I’ve seen a lot of positive reviews until your page
@RuggedAdventures8 ай бұрын
It's not great but maybe I got a dud. A lot of people really want something to work so they'll be kinda lenient on it in public. There is a 458 socom forum that has lots of info. I did polish the feed ramp and that helped a bunch. Keep it as clean as possible and well lubed. I hope yours runs much better.

@@RuggedAdventures did you have to change the buffer weight? I was seeing a lot of ppl recommend a H3 buffer weight
@RuggedAdventures8 ай бұрын
No, I didn't mess with the buffer. The majority of the jams I got were feed ramp hang ups and bolt failing to seat. The barrel lug pattern on this upper is just a scaled up 5.56 whereas the original Tromix design has much less prominent lugs at the 5, 6, and 7 o'clock locations.
@TruthGotGunz8 ай бұрын
@@RuggedAdventures ok. So you wouldn’t recommend me upgrading the buffer weight? I’m weighting on my ammo to arrive and ima test it as soon as I get it fck waiting until the weekend 😂
