Interesting how many manufactures are going with the tried and true Glock magazines and Ruger 10/22 units for compatibility and performance. Standardisation is getting even more common in the firearm industry which is great. I built one one just like this model from a standard regular Ruger10/22 the trigger group and receiver are the only original parts at a much higher price point than this new BCA firearm. Are you going to try any Volquartsen upgrades and test the performance? The only improvement I would like I would to see is a last round hold open to help ensure you don't fire on an empty chamber another improvement is a easier way of cleaning from the chamber end. There is kit that is expensive and requires special aftermarket Match Bolt to have that feature and the TCR-22 22LR Rimfire with the Thompson Center factory Magazine was made to function to lock open empty. I wonder if these companies who are making the clones of the Ruger 10/22 could get permission from Ruger to make a version of the Takedown? If there was a 22 Magnum in take down you could possible have an 17 HMR barrel unit so it could be a dual caliber firearm? That would be awesome since you could use the same magazines. I do like that Ruger making a suppressed barrel unit for the Takedown 10/22 something in the future I would like to invest in.

Excellent points! A 22 mag takedown would be awesome as a backpack gun. We might try some Volquartsen upgrades in the future thanks for the view and comment.

Sadly the BC-201 is performing way better than my newer RUGER 10-22.

@HawkMeyerOutdoors I did watch your video and it proves my point. Show me a 5 shot moa group at 50yds. Sure it's a squirrel rifle. But Bear Creek advertises match grade barrel. 11 degree target crown. A match grade barrel should be able to shoot moa at 50yds with match ammo. I have quite a few target rifles and bought the BC 201 with high hopes. Mine was plagued with light primer strikes. 5 out of 10 shots at least. Horrible accuracy with multiple types of match ammo. Scopes used Riton 6-24 x50 and Blackhound 6-24 x59. 2 different shooters. I sent the rifle in for repair. Bear Creek did not fix the light primer strikes. They sent a target back they had shot 7 times. The group size for those 7 shots was just under 2 inches. That's laughable 🤣 I've sent 3 emails to BC asking for a firing pin. No response. Most guys that I know that have the BC 201 have changed barrels or thinking about it. Every BC 201 that I've seen shoots no better than a standard 10-22.

@@BoomstickMark5 we weren't shooting match grade ammo in our video and we were using a bipod versus sandbags. I'm sure with better ammo and sandbags we could easily shrink our groups. Our rifle is set up more for hunting and not putting holes in paper. We're using higher velocity rounds with hollow points; more ethical kills. I've always shot better groups with standard velocity rounds. As far as the light primer strikes, we haven't run into that problem with our rifle. I hope that helps, Good luck with everything.
