Cultural Survival is a shared vision family, friends and fans. Not just for show. It about empowering, living feeling, breathing and bringing it to life. I am life, you are life, we are all life. CULTURAL SURVIVAL for all of us should be a vision of a future where we can as Indigenous Peoples live through our inherent rights deeply interwoven in our landscapes of our territory through our language & culture and traditional governance structures mind body and spirit and so forth... rights which are honoured through our SELF - DETERMINATION ... breaking the cultural stress. "BREAKING CULTURAL STRESS" means living through traditions of our culture, embracing it through practice feeling it, sharing it, honouring it while instilling hope for our future generations while honoring our Elders and ancestral relations. My mission is to advocate for the Indigenous peoples in their self determining cultural identities for cultural and even political survival. We all have our own songs and dances and values and ways of expressing them. hey ya ho.

Why should she not 'be allowed' to dance this dance? Why is it not sacred when she does it according to you?

Laura Grizzlypaws - I think the dance (and the speech) was very beautiful, profound and powerful. I felt both joy and sadness - joy for the beauty of our earth, nature and all creatures, and the sadness and sorrow of what we are doing to it, to our brothers and sisters and to ourselves when I saw your dance. Thank you for keeping your beautiful traditions alive and for standing up for what is right, responsible and good and for our and our childrens future~

You're entitled to your opinion, but if feel it's a wonderful and powerful message she shares with all of Indian Country. And going about the world, sharing her message of cultural and linguistic preservation via this sacred dance is a beautiful way of expressing that message. I'm proud of the work she's done, but I can understand how her own People would want the dance to be kept among themselves in order to protect its sanctity.
