Bear has proven that she indeed isn’t a children’s pony 😂 Yes, Harlow is a child, but she a a very capable rider. A horse being a “child safe” means that they are good and gentle for beginners. It’s not about the size or age of the rider in the sense of that 😅

I think she has already had a foal? Or i don’t remember the full story but i know she was carrying atleast and have had alot of time off. Her video with simon when jumping bear i think showed how to work with her very well and her issues. He did a good job of explaining it in my opinion.

The dismount is so me with mine She tried to hold on but as soon as you lose your footing sometimes it’s just better and safer to dismount when you can, big props to her for getting back on and jumping! Well Done Harlow ☺️🎉

I have had a horse that had this same issue and I put blinders on her, like a cart horse has or race horses and it helped emensly it took away alot of the outside world out of her focus

I agree. It looks like she has some vision problems. If it's something like she'd need glasses ( like people with vision problems) , your vet won't be able to diagnose that however. All other eye problems possible : have the vet take a look !

Wow i mean many people hate on harlow for some reason i think she’s kind and she’s too young to be at fault for many things people accude her of but that handling of the reins of the unexpected rearing was rly good! She pulled a bit first but immediately thought about what meg said and changed her hands to not pull and tried to change bears focus but realised it didn’t work so she did an emergency dismount. Really well done!

I think swapping ponies is so great. It really helps to be able to ride all different types of ponies and horses. It's certainly a skill that can be underestimated. When I was a young 20 year old I was a polo groom, I learnt to ride 20 different horses and each one has there different buttons and quirks.

Harlow did a good job, considering the mount and the situation! But the episode definitely illustrates why Bear definitely isn't, and never will be, a kid's pony. Meg, you are definitely doing the responsible thing by hanging onto her! If you can find a small adult who wants to do BD to lease her to, that would be ideal, it seems to me. Then you maintain control and she gets worked!
