Yes, but maybe like 75% ish of the time. If it's a very simple block, no. If I sew on the bias, 100% yes. If there is a ton of piecing, yes. So it just depends lol.

I press to the side because it's quicker and easier for me, but if there are many seams intersecting each other casing bulk, I'll press open. 😁

Im new to quilting and I fear I have messed up the sizing of my hst’s. Could you tell me what they should measure if correctly done? When matching up with the 2 1/2 squares and the 4 1/2 squares things are off. Thank you in advance.

If I have a layer cake with 2 of each piece would this work? Obviously with bg fabric as well

Yes, it can work! Good catch. 1 layer cake for the large print squares and 1 layer cake for all the half square triangles. So 2 layer cakes would make one block plus background. 😁🤗🫶
