Great tutorial very easy to understand. Thank you! Only thing I would is to press seams as you go, especially for beginners. Much easier to handle the block and match seams that way.

Sure makes a beginner rethink all the dilemmas of 1/4" seams on each and every patch. Almost makes me think I could do this one too. I watched your charm pack video first. Thank you.

You can do it!

Definnitely the best disappearing 4-patch tutorial. My very first one turned out with perfect matching on the seams. Also turns out with 2 4-patch units.

I totally agree about pressing, but overall a great video.

This makes better sense than sewing a bunch of charms together to make a four patch.

Nice tutorial, but I would have set my seams and pressed as it makes it easier when cutting the disappearing 4 patch.

I'm looking for a new sewing kit and shelpful tips on quilting and where to start im going nuts trying to decide what to do i want to learn more about it please help me out 🙏, T
@debbiesuecreates1671 Жыл бұрын
Not sure what you mean by sewing kit? But sometimes the best thing to do is just sit at your sewing machine and start sewing scrap fabric together just to start the habit of sewing. Then all of a sudden you think, wow that looks cool let me try this, or that. Then just have fun. I started actually just taking some fabric and batting and making a “quilt sandwich” and hand quilted it together. I know some people hate hand quilting but I loved it and it was relaxing and I could sit with my husband and watch tv! That was during COVID. Then I was like oh, I have a sewing machine that I got several years ago and never used and decided to pull it out and learn how to use it. I watched KZbin vídeos and was surprised at how I actually loved it also. I am late to the game of sewing and quilting as I am older. But it’s never to late to learn new things. My sewing machine was a singer heavy duty. I eventually upgraded to the baby lock presto 2 .

I think if you had pressed your seams open they would have matched up and the block would have sewed easier and neater.

Finished dimension is 8-1/2” overall? So the quilt size for like a twin would be 6 squares by 8 (48” x 64”) not counting borders, right?

thank you for the tutorial. It was great to watch and easy to understand. What is the brand on your mat? I didn't know you could get one that spins!
@debbiesuecreates1671 Жыл бұрын
Your welcome, it was a fun tutorial to do. The mat I used was from Amazon, U.S. Art Supply 18" x 18" Rotary WHITE/BLUE High Contrast Professional Self Healing 7-Layer Durable Non-Slip Cutting Mat Great for Scrapbooking, Quilting, Sewing and all Arts & Crafts Projects. They have smaller sizes also, the 18x18 is just under 40.00 now. You might be able to find a better deal on a different brand, I’m sure they all work great. Have a great day.

Thanks so much! I am getting one for myself. It’s such an obvious solution to problems I’ve encountered. I can’t believe it never occurred to me to look for this.

Debbie, I’m kinda new to quilting 2 years and 4- 1/2 months now, do you have any advice for me. Love what your video is about to start.
@debbiesuecreates16712 жыл бұрын
I am actually about as new as you. Just started around when the pandemic began. The only advice I can think of is just have fun and do what you enjoy. We just did a big move to a different state and I am still setting up my new sewing room. Hopefully I will be making more videos soon. Thank you for your comment. Sorry I can’t think of anything better for advice.

Can this be done using batik material?
@debbiesuecreates16712 жыл бұрын
I haven’t tried it with batik fabric, but I feel that it should work, and probably look beautiful. 😀
@stormyg19452 ай бұрын
It doesn’t matter what type of fabric you use as long as it’s not too heavy.
