Nearly all of the songs by Bear's Den give off a really, truly emotional and genuine feeling. It's kind of bittersweet to listen to their songs, but I guess I love that, since this is one of my favorite songs ever.

I visited Pompeii years ago, when i was still a kid. I felt the same way i'm feeling now : melancholic. Some things happen in your life that you can never change. You just have to live with it and thus become stronger, or wiser.
@austen2gaskell29 жыл бұрын
I've got to say, I prefer this version to the re-released 'Above the Clouds of Pompeii'. They're both phenomenal, obviously, but the simplicity of this one always gave me goosebumps. It felt more as if the kid whose perspective it was being told from was playing it? I don't know. They're both incredible but....Maybe it's because I heard this version first and imprinted on it or something.

hey... hi there,, i totaly agree..this version gripped my soul and ,for me, its the only version..

It Belongs In A Museum sometimes simplicity really is best. especially regarding songs of this nature. it's quiet and soft just as the message of the song. the composition and medium reflects the meaning in a way

How many songs can bring a tear to your eye the first time you listen to it? For me, this was one of maybe 5 ever. Tragedy that sticks with you, hauntingly beautiful.
@stephaniewood139011 жыл бұрын
you dont really know how good music is until it brings out true emotion, this song is so beautifully written, the strings in the background bring a slightly happier theme but the lyrics are wonderfully composed that it makes you want to cry. truly one of the best songs i've heard

Remember that time we met downtown and you showed me All around everything the normal people couldn't see From that day on I felt Like it was you and me against em all I could already see our home our kids and all your smiles Miles ahead somehow I just knew it would all one day be true Now it's all gone Begin again I must Old and alone Without your smiles to come home to Without you Remembering makes it so much more sad but it s all of you that s left For me now It's all I ve ever had

Nostalgic melon collie That I can t stop listening to So many knew I d be alone and That I was finally done Above it all and still true Tripping and falling threw All the time I fell head first into that hole Then Woke up so sore and broken boned So the story goes I just listen and smirk when I hear it tell today They never saw it And I bet I d remember my part But it's too late All is gone Back to the start If I was smart I d be there too But instead I m here Alone with only these passages in my head But who can tell me why I tried and tried to be that guy for them I guess I just never learned how or why they wanted me to And I so Wanted to I miss their world That I can No longer find On my own

Fred Tkach Me too. It just seems so much more personal. The sweeping instrumentation of the album version (while beautiful) removes an element of the heartbreak because it takes the song out of the hands of the person singing.
