I hated this band when they came out! So glad my taste has changed, they have some brilliant tracks. Time for me to explore further. Thanx for posting this.

Soy de Chile, los escuché por primera vez en 1991 en un programa radial que se llamaba "Música Marginal", siento no haberlos valorado y disfrutado más en esr momento, absorto en mis bandas favoritas Joy Division, Siouxsie, Etc.

So confident and strong, for the opening track of a first album. I saw them in Liverpool during the summer of '80, and they were already incredibly good live. That turned me on to several years and albums in which they were just brilliant

The BASS here🤌🏾💕😮💨🔥 Like, Throwing Muses’ musical structures are an ART to behold BUT I always appreciate when a bassist steps out and CLAIMS melody & riffage. Bc there are so many times where the bass gets completely washed out in the treble BUT times like here🙌🏾💕💫 it stands out GLORUOUSLY in a Dub way almost. And also reminds me of bands like Motörhead, Dinosaur Jr & New Order where the BASS DID NOT COME TO “play” OR FUCK AROUND. It doesn’t fit into the common bass tropes and clearly and proudly STANDS OUT and clearly helps carry the song. Tangent is necessary bc there’s so many times where BANDS will constrict the bassist (I know from experience) like- “NO! THIS is how it should be done, and THIS is the purpose & HOW DARE you upstroke it’s downstrokes ONLY!! (Last one is hopefully just extreme cases, lol.) But yeah! I LOVE when a bass-line comes thru and shines and double kudos for the drummers who are able to keep the beat while also being magically intwined with the bassists. It ultimately comes down to that solid level of teamwork, BUT when it works- FUCK!!!! L🤘🏾❤️ if this isn’t in your top FIVE Throwing Muses songs (or songs period), then I don’t know what to tell ya! It’s UNBEATABLE thru & thru and THAT BASS is what carry’s the magic along with the chill inducing lyrics/vox and ALL else

This song has recently made me revisit some old wounds. I was the man In 20 bands. I gave it all up for drinking and being foolish. I’m glad I found this to wake me up. It may be too late however I’m awake.
