What about beard cream? And when is a good time to add it?
@DanCBearded7 күн бұрын
@joseostos834 beard cream is just a marketing term. If it has water, don’t use it. If it doesn’t, it’s likely just another word for beard butter

Dan is my go-to guy for getting educated opinion. As a first time grower 😅 it's important to use right product and keep things neat and clean and tidy. Going for a Yeard first time in my life, tomorrow marks 4th month no shaving. Couple of minor stache trims, one at home one professional barber trim, 4 months strong. Still haven't decided on the shape, so trims are very minor

Requesting clarification... Is a waxless beard butter the same as a beard leave-in conditioner? Or, is it different in proportionality between the oils and butters? Meaning: Beard butter can be one part oil to two parts butter and beard leave-in conditioner can be one part oil to one part butter? I'm a DIYer, but I'm definitely not asking you to co-sign my efforts. Lol. I know your reticence to the homemade stuff. Any guidance you may offer would be appreciated. Stay safe and healthy. 🤘

This is probably the best video explaining products to many of my confused friends who have long scraggly dry beards and use nothing but hair wash and hair conditioner! I used to be the same way until someone I came across told me they used butter in their beard to get it to look the way he did. I thought he was joking then he gave me some. That’s when my world opened up making me feel comfortable to grow one! The washing and conditioning was confusing because there were so many different terms. This video breaks everything down! Great video! Something I will forward to all of my friends! I had about a 6 inch goatee/beard chin when I decided to grow and now will never shave it off again!

Great video, I really liked the quick digest format! Always good for me to get back to basics even having been around products for awhile. It's something I wish I had had when I was new to the beard game for sure and it'll be one of the first things I pass along to anyone I know getting into it. Best parts for me were breaking down the difference in a really simple way between butter/balm/wax and clarifying that conditioner/cowash/softener are all the same thing. All great info to have in one place in a quick format.

For the new beardsmen, always use beard oil before you use a heated brush or blow dryer/comb. Wait 5-10 minutes after the oil before you use the brush. Also comb your beard right after you put it in so you can evenly distribute the oil. I hope I worded those correctly.

Great summarizing video Dan. I loved the intro as well. I while back I was modding my car and there was a guy here on KZbin who helped me a lot. Not personally, but just by watching his videos. He never asked anyone for support, nor subscribe to his channel. Yet, he put out a tremendous amount of info and helpful hints pretty much for free. His channel wasn't the most popular back then, and still not the most popular as of today. Anyhow, one day I sent him $100 as a thank you for all of his videos. He sent me an email like " Dude, you dont have to do this!!" I'm like you're right, I dont HAVE to, I WANT to. You saved me $1000+ by not taking my car to the stupid dealership, and listen to their stupid BS about additional fees. For that matter $100 is the least I can do for you. Its actually nothing if you start looking more deep into it. I support you because I had a great deal of knowledge out of your videos, and I truly appreciate it, that's all. Dont send my money back, because it would make me feel upset.... Stay positive.

I used to think that I could just use beard balm and it would properly hydrate my beard. It would get dry and itchy. I cut it off, thinking that I didn't want to deal with that. I now have a longer, healthier, more comfortable beard now that I always use oil and then the balm to help shape it. I use a heated beard brush only after a shower and after I let oil set for about 15 minutes, because my beard likes to coil up after a washing. Also, a simple trimming of flyaways can make a big difference on how clean your beard looks.

New guy but old beard I have a beard since 1977. For most of those years the beard was trimmed short and I wasn't aware of any treatment. I haven't worked in almost a year and let the beard grow. So it is 5 or 6 inches. It is growing great but needs help. I have the oil, wash, conditioner and the butter. I am on day one... The oil and butter has already made my beard look and feel better. As I try products I will have more questions. I am working on using the right amount. Thanks for the great customer service. Quick responses and no judgement on my simple questions.... Thanks again. John

Dan, great video! I love how you just broke it down simple, for the longest time I was confusing myself on the “co-wash” title. I always knew co-wash was conditioner. But I always confused myself with the title. A conditioner is designed for after using a beard wash, a conditioner can be used alone on days but it is not cleaning your beard, that is called a co-wash day. The only question I have is if a company labels it a co-wash, doesn’t that mean it’s DESIGNED to use on its own on co-wash days, as compared to a just a regular beard conditioner you would use on its own on a co-wash day, or is it still essentially the same thing with a different title? Either way I use a co-wash or a beard conditioner the same way on my co-wash days. Thanks talk soon. Pete

I can be designed for that or companies just didn't look into the term enough lol

Lanolin like sheep's wool? Ah Anchor man lol! Thanks for the information as I have really only grown my beard long a few times and was unsure of how to take care of it. It's funny I let it go because I figured easy maintenance instead of shaving at least once a week but turns out if done properly taking care of a beard is more work lol!
@DanCBearded9 ай бұрын
But so much more enjoyable and better looking than shaving lol but certainly is work. I love it though!

@@DanCBearded I concur! I just bought a beard straightener and it's really relaxing! Tomorrow I'll use oil, wait, then use balm! It looks so good now that it isn't all gnarled lol! It was all twisty and curly

Another great vid! 👍 Saw this on a previous vid, but my "lightbulb" moment, was the 5 (or even 10) minute rule. Out of shower w/ oil only in, WAIT! Let the oil absorb before adding another product. Give your oil it's chance for maximum effectiveness. Then add your other product for the remainder of the day/night

Before I discovered yt videos on the beard care I had to do the trial and error. I used olive oil back in the day and then I started using a scent and jojoba oil in different methods. I even used leave in conditioner. I learned that all of that stuff helped me but nothing beats the beard products out now. I have been bearded since 2007

I'm wearing my first beard and it's beautiful! Thanks so much for the product breakdown. I'm about 6 months in but I trimmed once after about 3 months and regretted it. Now it's long enough again that I feel like I need to add the product routine but had no idea where to even start. Your video really helped!

I've seen a few top # whatever videos for your beard. Best one I've seen so far. Amazingly proper explanation for my beard hair. I love applying my beard oil to my skin under and around my chin area. Then a few minutes after I apply my beard balm to the length of my hairs. My beard remind supple and healthy all day. I do this wen I wake up to help my hair stay oily and healthy due to having to wear a mask that covers my beard when working. I repeat just before bed to maintain its supple and soft feel when I wake up I'm he morning. Thanks for the great advice. Really helped me decide that I am for sure on the right track for my beard health care. 7" beard and counting after about 8 months of growth

I saw the Noresman in there. Terry’s products are just amazing products, one of my favorites. Beard jelly dries my beard along with whipped butter. After Scotch Porter changed there products I’m gonna have to get Beard Octane leave-in conditioner. Good stuff Dan. Thank you.
