Hey, SuperSonmoR. Thanks so much. I really appreciate it. I aim to put out a quality product for you guys each and every video. If you haven't already, you might be interested in my follow-up video to this one seen here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/onSlqHuZi9-esLM. This is the OneBlade Part 2, where I go through each attachment, trimming down my beard until only a goatee remains. I also just posted a video a few hours ago, as well, where I conduct another comparison. I put the Gillette Fusion 5 Proshield Power head-to-head against a 2005 Schick Quattro Power I found factory sealed in my childhood bathroom drawer. In this video, I test the two side-by-side to see if the changes in technology over the last 10+ years really make any difference in the quality of the shave. You can find that here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/eXSyc2CahZ2Jq6s . Thanks again for the positive feedback and thanks for watching! Good Luck!

Was just wondering. What length does the oneblades actual blade cut at, without any of the guards ?
@GroomReviews5 жыл бұрын
Hi, King75102. Thank you for your question and support of the channel. According to Philips Norelco, the OneBlade blade without any attachments can cut to a length of 0.4mm. Hope this helps! Thanks for watching and being a member of the GroomReviews community! All the best!

@@GroomReviews Thanks for the reply. If I wanted to achieve a very light shadow stubble look, like a shadow that one gets a day or so after clean shaving. Which,out of all the trimmers that you've tested, would you recommend for that ?
@GroomReviews5 жыл бұрын
Hi, King75102. You are most welcome! To your question, I have a few videos regarding achieving that 3-day light stubble look. I recommend taking a look at my videos on the Philips Norelco Series 5100 seen here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/a4eqp5KMfatqZpo as well as the Philips Norelco Beard Trimmer 5500 seen here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/l4Sod5J3hMqhjZo. The Beard Trimmer 5500 is the trimmer I would recommend for you (amzn.to/2XSw5fG), as it is essentially identical to the Series 5100 with upgraded features. But I want you to see the Series 5100 video to get an idea of the stubble look you can achieve, as I trimmed down in this video. In the Beard Trimmer 5500 video, I had left a goatee, while shortening the sides of my beard. Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any questions after taking a look. All the best!
@King751025 жыл бұрын
@@GroomReviews Hi mate. I watched both videos. I Should have mentioned before but, I received the Philips oneblade as a gift recently. I've been using the oneblade mostly without any of the comb attachments. And have found that when using the one blade (without any of the attachments), it takes a day to achieve the look I want. After about a day is when the stubble length is perfect. Don't know what length that would be (0.4, 0.5 ?). Perhaps using the Philips Norelco Beard Trimmer 5500 without any guard would help me achieve this look right off the bat, without having to wait a day lol. Cheers man.
@GroomReviews5 жыл бұрын
Hi, King75102. As the OneBlade cuts at 0.4mm, depending on how fast your hair grows, it sound like it may be around 0.5 to 0.6mm in length the next day. With the Philips Norelco Beard Trimmer 5500, without any guards, this would cut to the same 0.4mm length as the OneBlade. However, once adding the beard comb, the 5500 steps up in 0.2mm increments and the next cutting length up is 0.6mm, which sounds like it could be a perfect fit. After that is the 0.8mm and 1mm, so you get several close cutting options which is nice. Hope this helps! Thanks, again, for your support of the channel! All the best!

Why shaving under the mouth?
@GroomReviews6 жыл бұрын
I shave under the mouth to give more detail to my beard. Instead of leaving it shaggy, I prefer to make clean lines and isolate the soul patch (the small patch of hair under my lower lip). This helps to make the beard pop by creating contrast between the beard and skin. That said, It's all a matter of personal preference. There are beard styles that shave the area more, less and some that don't touch the area at all. At the end of the day, all that matters is what works for you. I'd test it out and see what you think. If it's not for you, it'll grow back. Good Luck! Thanks for watching!

Thank you for the review! Actually the replacement blades cost 25 euro a pair while the shaver itself (only face version) costs 30. So 1) you basically will have to spend as much money almost every 10 months as if you were buying a new shaver 2) which makes completely senseless buying replacement blades, because a new shaver, with its 3 included replacement blades, lasts for 12 months. And after all, I'm not eager to spend 30 euro for a shaver that only lasts one year.
@GroomReviews6 жыл бұрын
Hi, Adson. You are most welcome! Thank you for your comments. You are exactly right. The replacement blades are a big issue with this product that can easily be overlooked and cost you down the line. Personally, after reviewing quite a few products since this OneBlade review, I really found the Philips Norelco Multigroom 7000 to be a top performer on the beard. Oddly enough, it's the same manufacturer, but the 7000 to me feel like it's in a different league than the OneBlade. If interested, you can catch my review here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/m3fRYYafZqegr8U . When I reviewed the 7000, the price was just under $60, but now that the holidays have rolled around, many community members are reporting buying this product in the $30-$49 range. At that price, we are entering into the same range as the OneBlade, even before the cost of replacement parts. Personally, I think you are better served by a trimmer like the Multigroom 7000 that is quality made, has more power, sharper blades, can actually trim into a longer haired beard, will lasts for years, and has no replacement parts necessary. Thanks again for you insight and for watching. I appreciate having you as a member of the GroomReviews community! All the best!

How many shaves can we do with one blade
@GroomReviews6 жыл бұрын
Hi, g RECORDS. According to Philips Norelco, each blade should last you up to 4 months before needing to be replaced. This is based on a usage of 2 full shaves per week, which is roughly around 35 shaves in 4 months. Results will vary, but this is the estimated life they give for the blade before replacement. Hope this helps! Thanks for watching and being part of the GroomReviews community! All the best!

@GroomReviews5 жыл бұрын
Hi, cc cc. Thanks for your question and support of the channel! I'm not sure what type of trimmer you are using now, but if you are trimming down to skin, you might be interested in testing out a foil shaver. Was not really impressed with this thing. Used it for keeping stubble away on my days off from work where I have to be clean shaven every day. Maybe I was not pressing hard enough but it seemed it just took forever to get shaven as well as wouldn’t cut too well
@GroomReviews6 жыл бұрын
Hi, MoSkunk Jr. Unfortunately, from my experience, the Philips Norelco OneBlade will not be able to get you a true clean shave, but leave you with a stubble finish. You may want to check out my video for the Philips Norelco Multigroom 7000 here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/m3fRYYafZqegr8U . This comes with the foil shaver attachment, which when trimming down to stubble, can be used to work through the stubble for an even smoother finish. If looking for an everyday electric shaver that can get you that smooth feel, the Remington F5-5800 might be a fit and can be seen in my review here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/e2LPZnd5ds9jeqs . This is one of the more affordable shaver options currently on Amazon: amzn.to/2JZT4Ov and sounds like the type of product that could work well for your situation. You will see some very expensive shavers that are loaded with features, but most sell in the triple digits and the Remington F5-5800 is an affordable option to at least test out and see if its the right fit. Hope this helps! Thanks for watching!
