I think he could pull off a mustache with a little, (very small amount), of scruff. The full bread was killing his look because it was shaggy and the white ends made him look old, but a little scruff would give him just a touch of ruggedness and his perfect smile would balance it all out.

Depends upon how well the beard is trimmed. Beards with short hair are very common in the middle east, and men look virile and masculine here. But this guy looks youthful with a shave and mid length hair. Suits him perfectly.
