Great vid. My barber keeps cutting my beard back too much. I told him just work it with the scissors. He said it was better for him to use clippers! Great advice you've given. My thing is I think all barbers need to up their scissor game. I pay £60GBP for my head to balded, beard shaped and faded. I thought I could once every three months! I've worked out that the rate a hair strand splits is quicker than rate of growth. The longer you leave a split end the more cut back that's gonna be needed meaning lost progress/new growth. Nipping the split ends early at least once a month is a good window. I'll be doing this as of this month going forward. Quick side note ...I noticed grey hairs split less than than the rest of my beard. I really thought beard shampoo, moisturizer and beard oil would prevent me even having to deal with split. Seems like they come regardless. Staying on top and ridding them early is the key. Last thing we need is the split running back down into the folicule I think this is one of the causes for boils/ingrowns and cyst.

My beard is wirely straight with a long wave to it, what makes it really hard is I have white, brown, blonde and red hairs in my beard. I like the paper idea, I will just need a black and white sheet.

Increase your co-washes per week and use a No.8 Chicago comb while co-washing. And if you're not using beard butter or a leave-in conditioner, this is a must. Especially after a shower and before bed. Good luck, brother 🤘

@BeardedExistence4 жыл бұрын
It really depends on your beard health. When you find the routine that your beard likes the best you won’t need to do it as often. The quicker you find split ends and get rid of them the better they travel and you would need to cut more of the hair off. 👊🏾

thanks for the video! My beard has a texture very similar to yours and many times i notice a lot of split ends. Another problem is that the hair gets thinner when it grows in length and the part under the chin seems to have stopped growing. Any suggestions/advice about that? How long did it take to you to reach this length and fullness?
@BeardedExistence5 жыл бұрын
You have to trim the splits to prevent further damage they will eventually travel up the strand. Stay consistent on your routines and figure out what products work best for your beard. 👍🏾👊🏾

My beard is the longest it's ever been. I started to notice that even washing, conditioning, and combing it out wasn't keeping it from getting tangled. Then I started noticing that I had split ends, and knots that cause tangles. I was trying to think of a way to solve the problem, but this makes a lot of sense. I'll give it a try😅
