if you want the door to close after you leave the collision area, just take an "on component End Overlap" for the collision box and plug it into the reverse of the door animation

Hey man, I just found your channel through this video but I can already tell you're going to be very helpful and a great resource. I always like to stop and thank people like you for teaching people like me who would never be able to figure this stuff out on my own lol.

Great video! I was able to get mine workiing perfectly after playing around a little, but does anyone know why textures are blown out on the chamfer and the 1M cubes or any other static mesh option for the blue prints. They look great on regular cubes and geometry cubes but horrible on the blueprint options in the viewport.

I was wondering, how much do you know of Unreal coding in C++ vs blueprints? I've done a bit on blueprints but not a whole lot in C++
@Beardgames4 жыл бұрын
I'll be honest I'm pretty much a beginner in c++, I only started learning it as I thought it was required to make my game multiplayer through steam. The reason I fell in love with ue4 was because you didn't need to code and could do everything through blueprints haha. Don't stress if you don't know c++ it's not required unless youre going for some advanced specific networking things

Hey, thanks for this! Super helpful indeed! If we wanted to expand on this, and say, and a dust type particle system to the door animation, how would we go about doing that? Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us dude!!
@Beardgames3 жыл бұрын
Glad you're liking the content Anto :) so you're best off just playing around with things and it depends what kind of thing you're going for. Probably spawn some particles spread out with a random velocity really small, then for another column spawn larger ones for some kind of cloud dust. Maybe I'll whip up some kind of tutorial on this at some point :) thanks for supporting the channel amigo!
@3DAntonio473 жыл бұрын
@@Beardgames Can I ask, would this be something that we would add to the 'door opening timeline' or would the it be a trigger that's needed to play the particle effect animation while the door is opening? I guess there are multiple ways of obtaining this effect. If you could do a tutorial about this, that would be mighty fine of you. There doesn't seem to be any out there on YT but I'm having do much fun learning! Haha. Thanks again my friend!
@Beardgames3 жыл бұрын
@@3DAntonio47 yeah so you'd add it somewhere along that line when you want the dust to spawn, possibly as soon as the timeline starts :) just use a spawn emitter at location or add the particle system to the blueprint and call the activate now from it!

In the double door blueprint, when I parent the door static mesh to the scene component, the scale of the door changes drastically. For that matter, any time I adjust the hierarchy, all kinds of scaling issues happen. Why is that?
