Kendrick on his poetic shit, that you might not really understand the first time listening. Both did their thing, Kendrick with the harder beat, and Cole with the harder voice.

Kendrick verse was definitely harder. He's just a better rapper. I won't say J cole verse was better but sonically it sounded better. It's a preference. Like I know TPAB is a way better album than 2014 FHD but sonically I just rock with FHD.

He could’ve been referencing DNA. Even tho DAMN. Came out in 2017, kendrick had already written DNA. Way before that. In his interview with Rick Rubin shortly after TPAB Kendrick would say the word DNA every five minutes

This is why I think a Cole x Kendrick album wouldn't work. Kendrick gets deep into subjects with complex lyricism to match, where as Cole generally conveys surface level thoughts with lighter and more relatable lyrics

It definitely would work but I see what you mean. Cole cant go bar for bar with Kendrick and that's cool too, I still feel they can make something work along the lines of either one of them on a Hook or a Refrain or them bringing some more guest features. It doesn't have to be a concept album just them doing something with more artists like how J Cole did ROTD III.

Kendrick is a better lyricist. if you break down his bars they are more complex and have more of a message. Both of them are great rappers with great cadences and rhyme schemes.
