This leaves the target bleeding out and possibly able to warn their compatriots. *WARNING BELOW FOR GORY DESCRIPTIONS.* In reality the technique taught was to stab once in the area of the kidneys (some were taught to move the knife around) to make the stabbee inhale sharply, then the mouth is covered, (this is the gory bit) the point of the knife is pushed in through the side of the neck then pushed forward and out, killing the person quickly and/or rendering them unable to raise an alarm. If you've ever seen the film Upgrade; the reverse of what happens to Serk with the knife. A TVTropes entry for Slashed Throat, talking about the film Logan said one of the Mooks was turned into a bloody PEZ dispenser. My dad took that phrase and coined the verb; ImPEZerration.
