This season is done. We haven’t really faced anyone and Flus’ bread and butter is getting steamrolled by competent running offenses. This is an indictment on the Front Office and their inability to identify the coaching staff as a problem last season. They have officially wasted a year of CW’s rookie contract. And it’s not like there is anyone on that staff that appears to be a better option.

Good pod as always Laurence. A couple of points/questions I think are worth bringing up. - Caleb overthrows his receivers a lot. I'd be curious as to how many times this season he has over thrown his targets. - What happened to getting Caleb into a rhythm with the check downs? Caleb had several in this game that he clearly missed. - Why is Cole Kmet completely underutilized? - How the hell does Eberflus justify using his timeouts today and didn't last week? When you decided to go "all in" with Caleb and attempt to do things differently, all that mattered was getting the best staff you could to develop the QB. That is ALL that mattered. Playoffs and team gains would have been nice, but shortsighted. But that being said, the Bears did NOT go all in. They kept a mediocre (at best) coach, and a first time OC. The QB needs an offensive minded coach and a good OC, not a first time OC. He will not develop, and now, IF they fire Eberflus and his staff now, who will coach Caleb Williams. And if they wait til next year, you waste the rest of this year. THIS IS THE BEARS. EVERY. YEAR.

I feel like the refs took the passing game away. The Cardinals OC recognized that. The announcers did as well. The Bears OC didn’t.

Not a single pass related penalty on a DB for either team but obscure penalties like leverage and chop block. I definitely appreciate the hipster ref crew going deep cut but Waldron didn’t. And only one offensive holding, so they were definitely calling the game in a way favoring the run game. I’m not naive to think that both teams were playing clean. I’d be interested to see how that was league wide.

they do"t respect the coach. because by not cutting stevens it says that not everybody has to be accountable. if you are someone the coaches like or vaule ,you can get away with anything. he is more important then the team. the team played just fine without him before he came back. he should haver been cut or traded.

“Trying to find the answer” is to Eberflus as “Trying to find the why” is to Nagy. Aside from poor coaching and game planning (again), I thought it was refreshing to see Odunze getting more action in the pass game. Caleb had some overthrows, but I think he will correct those in time. To me, he’s still THE guy. Also, since Kmet said that this team is ready for primetime games, they’ve gone 0-2. Maybe we should pump the brakes on a night game until this coaching staff can put together a game plan.

He went to the bargain basement bin for O line help in free agency and only drafted O line starting in the 4th round or later since he's been here, with the exception of Wright, who has really regressed this season, and at the 10th or 11th pick overall in the first round, he was supposed to be a plug in and play can't miss RT that we didn't need to worry about. Poles needs to use the first 3 rounds next year to draft O line and Chris Morgan can not be retained to have anything to do with next year's line.

The bears will never get better if the press and fans keep blaming our qb’s. Stop saying that Caleb had a bad game and admit that the offensive line is absolutely terrible and maybe Ryan poles should go pick up an o-line man before the trade deadline. He got sacked 6 times against an opposing defense that is mediocre at best. Do u have amnesia? Last year it was “Justin isn’t the guy” but we kept the problem aka eberfluss after he gave away 3 wins in the 4th with over a 90% chance to win last year. Then we went out and got the qb everyone wanted AND a bunch of other upgrades. Now we are looking at a same or worse record than last year. With a GM who was an offensive lineman we have a terrible o line. How is that possible. This entire coaching staff is abysmal. Let’s set Caleb up for success and THEN if he doesn’t perform we can judge him. Bears fans need to look in the mirror and realize what the actual problem is with this franchise. I’m glad you’re talking about the run defense now but it’s been bad all year and we got away with it. We made a bunch of flashy upgrades but didn’t improve on what makes teams great - solid offensive and defensive lines. We have no interior d line. Big holes on the o line. Brutal organization. The best thing to happen to the bears this year was the Hail Mary bc if they win that game eberfluss’ inadequacy wouldn’t have been given the national spotlight it deserves. He would’ve been praised for this teams grit and determination. At least now fluss on on his way out. Its all such a shame bc there is real talent on the roster. Best secondary the bears have ever had. Most talented offensive position players in bears history. PLEASE GET THE NEXT COACHING HIRE RIGHT.

Defense is on the field trying to keep game close, Offense does NOTHING .Calib holds ball longer than Fields .You have 3 top receivers and a great tight end, and you tell me nobody is ever open.
